Ok, bare with me I am new and I only have one question.

I have read the patch notes, I used the search function, I googled... I spent 1 hour searching but for my life I could not figure out how long the Server is going to be down? Don't they post the time it goes down and approximately back up somewhere?

I only bought the game yesterday and spent a bit of time in it, so I went to the Website and saw that the "Live-Servert" is offline probably for this R40 patch? Though that said Thursday the 30th March not Saturday 1st April. o.o

Am I stuck spaming F5 on that website until it goes online again or...?

r40 was released on thursday. the server isn't taken down for little in-between patches. this wasn't announced at all, so we don't know how long it will last or what caused it.

I have no idea how to add people even... heck I have not even seen any person ingame the 4-5h I played.
Right now this here has the feel of building a piece of IKEA furniture without a manual (who is reading those anyhow?), it's a really pretty piece of furniture though.

I like "learning by doing" and only go to google or such aids when I'm really desperate.
Kinda pointless to play a game if I drown myself in guides, then again some things can be a bit frustrating to figure out.
But the game is still in the works so i'm not complaining, what I have seen so far I liked more than I expected.
Debated the other night if I shall stay up and just keep playing or go to bed and get up early to continue after some rest... opted for the bed and having a rested gaming experience.... and then the Server is offline. ;(

Well, can't wait for it to get back online... maybe meet some folks while I grind mobs and so on, so far I love it... even if it is a bit rough on the edges.

yes, but after clicking "Play online" you can choose "single player online", "friends online", "multiplayer online"...

 

welp, Multiplayer Online of course, I have played MMOs since Meridian 59 / EverQuest and I work in IT, I'm not that low level that I would not figure that one out. ^^`

 

Welcome Milkdrop. I'm Majoria in game and to add friends click the 'f'' key to type in their name then you can right click their name and choose whisper. To get back to local chat type /l. Enter gets you back into the chat window. Also it is very good to make a chat window that does not show the world of things in it. You lose peoples whispers. So click on the little blue flower in one the chat tabs and un-check things to have local and whispers just showing and emotes if you want so you can see waves. Then you can switch back and forth to check for whispers or local chat from someone standing by you. Also if you want to wave or bow, click on the player to have them targeted and type /wave or /bow.

The emotes are listed under the 'o' key and we can share many more with you and you learn some from npcs as well. Also the 'j' is journal, 'b' is your recipe book and we can also share recipes with you so you don't have to buy them all, some are trade-able and some are not. Those you will have to buy or find adventuring the world. Don't forget to click the 'z' key to enter combat and it toggles and you regenerate health and focus more quickly with your weapon sheathed.
