*This isn't saying cut and dry everyone can kill everyone, or no one can kill anyone. This is with an understanding that if there was OPEN PvP there would be rules in place to compromise and meet in the middle.​

For Example:​

PvP flagged player kills non-flagged PvP player. Recently deceased non-PvP player would be immune for 15 minutes against PvP unless attack is then initiated by non-flagged player.​

This would take care of spawn killing.​

I know I said no details, but mainly wanted to express before this kicks off that there will be rules, I'm not suggesting KILL EVERYONE, or DON'T KILL ANYONE.​

Could be because it is in the general forums and it is yet another vote on PVP. But this time it matters.

 

This continual debate is actually why I am extremely hesitant to upgrade my pledge any further - what if they suddenly changed the rules on me and made me and my house killable burnable and lootable?

 

They won't. The continual debate isn't really much of a debate anymore. "Open" world PvP has been off the table since.. forever.

You're sure of this? I'd really like to be 100% certain, every time I go to one of the forums I see some "WE DEMAND OPEN PVP NAO!!" thread going on, and it doesn't look like this segment of players wants to stop pushing this.

 

As a Pk......I can 100% confirm that non-consensual PvP is off the table. What is on the table is: -

- Ability to flag yourself as a PvPer so you can attack any other flagged PvPer anywhere in the game
- Ability to go into a PvP area (some of which will be player towns) where everyone will be flagged regardless of there individual preference.

 

They won't stop pushing this. We'll probably still be seeing 'debates' and poles right up until (and after) release, but PvP has always been meant to be consensual since Kickstarter. It's not going to change. Oh sure there are options like PvP zones and maybe PvP quests and such.. and yeah maybe even hardcore PvPers can kill each other in some towns.. but if you're not flagged PvP and you don't enter a PvP zone..or otherwise agree to be flagged (temporary or otherwise) then you're safe.

It will never be forced on you.

 

I don't mind consensual PVP, I occasionally PVP when asked to by friends and find it just as fun as killing mobs. What I don't like is having someone gank me when I'm happily picking flowers, then dance on my corpse performing teabag emotes as they pick through my stuff and take it all off me, then pop by my house, loot the place, kill my dog, and set fire to it as they walk off (all while I'm blissfully sleeping in my real home).

I don't want any of that to happen.

 

One should not forget though that you will have to confirm if you want to enter those areas if you're not already flagged.

At this point I think pvp players should be pushing for more looting options instead of pushing to kill those that do not want to fight.

 

Didn't mention that because I thought it was a bit obvious........people want pop-up boxes for everything these days.

 

Well, if the results are to be interpreted afterwards, it might make sense to see how many people are ambivalent, rather than having one opinion or another. :>

True but I bring it up for new folks who might read the thread. It's obvious to us because we've been around here and active for ages.

 

I think it would be cool to have some gathering zones with open PvP. I have seen other games do this including that other one.
