Since I use cursor mode, the reticle above my avatar's head is completely useless to me. In fact, it's often in the way of my view. The reticle on my target, however, is essential. I can turn down the slider in the options but that affects both.

Can we please get an option to turn off the useless reticle above our heads? Or, better yet, just turn off the reticle when in cursor mode?

I thought I heard that we do have this options, but I could be wrong. I will check.

The slider used to only affect the reticle above your avatar's head. Life was good. Then, they announced that they would make it affect both. I begged them to not do that. One of the devs assured me that there would be a way to adjust them separately. At the next build, the slider was tied to both. Sadness. :(

[edit] That was several releases ago and still nothing has been implemented.

I use the mouse to but its still really useful to me to target something with the reticle and hit the "e" key to use it which saves a lot of carpel tunnel issues with us mousers.

I'm in the same situation (I hide the "toggle cursor" shortcut on ctrl-` so I don't accidentally lock the camera to the mouse and it frees up <tab> for tab-targeting).

Would love to have the reticle disabled both visually and effectively.

I do this too! :D I want the reticle to have useful sliders. I swear the one above my head still shows when the slider is all the way down still... sometimes.. can't reproduce the issue and don't wanna file another bug report about the same issue.. again???

So you want the two separate sliders: one for the overhead reticle and another for the selected target mob then?
