The issues I have with randomly getting drawn into combat from the overview map are:

    1. Breaks immersion. Abe is doing an outstanding job on the overview map, so much so that I find it much more entertaining then the combat areas we are drawn into.

    2. It's a unneeded time sink in traveling.

    3. Currently I just instantly zone back out which is an option but it kills any rhythm or immersion I had rolling along.

Now some players enjoy this so what I propose is an option for those of us who do not like it to turn it off.

There is one more idea. Instead of hastily snatching the player out of the overview map let us fight monsters ON the overview map.

This was asked in the last hangout.
There will be no actual fighting on the overland map - however there will come ways to avoid "encounter ambushes", like roving encounters or blocking encounters on the overland map.
