I just grabbed one of the Ornate Greenhouse row homes, and it's lovely - but I couldn't help notice how the greenhouse vibe is being thrown off on the top floor. The entire back wall is solid - not very greenhousy if you ask me. :p Please consider replacing the back wall with some glass for that wandering wonderful 360 degrees of light greehouse feel!

I wanted one of these until I went inside.
The feel is nice but the front glass is a little frosty???
Also, I want to see on all sides. I know most row houses are... in a row but mine is on an end.
If I could see out the side, I could see the ocean and the meadow.
    +1 for the change suggested.

The reason the back wall is solid is because then a row of row houses acts like a line of sight barrier
And that limits how much your computer need to calculate and display (better fps)

You'll note that row houses don't have windows on the sides or back either.

You'll note that none of the other row houses are advertised as being a 200$ greenhouse.

It's still a row house. Anyway, make your case, maybe they'll change it.

The problem with having windows on the sides/back is that in many situations your window will have the view of whatever wall is butting up against it, and whatever color/design used on that neighboring house.

Yes, it would be nice but it's just not what row houses were designed to have. Maybe if we're lucky they'll design some Village+ skyscraper houses with a view all around the top floors.

Row homes aren't used exclusively on cramped NPC row lots that are all butted up against one another - many row homes are used on larger lots and in POTs... that, and the bit of blue top I can see through the top of my ornate greenhouse row home is kinda fun. But that's really not the point of this thread - my observation was that the back wall throws off the vibe of the greenhouse. All the walls and that big back wall just throws off the whole greehouse vibe in a really big way. And thank you for the endorsement - it's always nice having the Barugon green star of approval.

Like the Obsidian towers - one of my favorite things about them is the view from the roof. Or the adboe homes - they're not towers but they have a wonderful open feeling when outside on the roof. Or some of the Viking homes and Knight homes with their open air rooftop designs. It would be nice if there was a greenhouse rooftop village home. :)

LOL, don't trust in my endorsement. They never listen to me.

IIRC, in Hometown, there should be one up the main entrance, near the end of the row on the left. I think that's the ornate one. The craftable one is right behind it on the next 'street' over.

When this home is stand alone or used as a greenhouse I thought the same thing, having all glass top would be nice.

However, I decorated mine as a penthouse party room and appreciate the actual walls to hang things on, not to mention provide some color uniformity. In this use it would suck having one wall viking, one wall stucco, and one wall elven becaues thats what you have to look at through all glass sides.

Not to start a new discussion but can we lower the proficiency to craft the regular version of this item to that of other 4 stories, like the shingled 4 story?

Why? All that glass is terribly difficult to mount and get structurally strong enough that it doesn't break in the Novian thunderstorms.

It's easier to put in glass panes than to build an actual roof.

We do need new items to require higher crafting levels when appropriate. It's the only way spending time to raise crafting skill level will have value, and hopefully will eventually contribute to the overall value of those crafted goods. Right now, everyone can craft almost anything, so it's hard to sell anything crafted for profit. I'm still having trouble selling the crafted row greenhouse for like 10% of the value of the one bought in the store.

I own one in Spite and love it, but as much as an "all glass" top floor would be awesome, I can see where having glass for the back wall might be problematic.

Having said that, I would LOVE it if they could make the front wall out of "clear" glass and not so "frosted" for an even better view ! ;)
