o_O You don't have to go to Owl's Head to be a Crafter.

Ardoris has a Crafting Center and personally I craft in Solania because they have almost all the crafting stations (it doesn't have a woodworking station), supply merchant, NPC Vendor, and an almost complete Recipe merchant all in the same building.

its quicker and easier just to go to owls head, i've wasted enough time just figuring this out, it's even more convenient than having your own stations.

Yeah, too bad we can't have our own personal crafting vendor with all the extra supplies we can't craft to make the things we can craft.:D

So can anyone tell me where the public Carpentry Table is in Solania? They have one of every table EXCEPT that one inside the building. (Or a good reason why there isn't one other than, "Oops, derp!")

I don't think there is a NPC one in Solania.

You can use mine if you wish. NE side of town, little cottage, vendor with blue torches out front & hot tub in the back. Just go downstairs in the basement on the 3rd level.

What does Owl's Head have that other crafting areas do not?

convenience for the most part, i can get everything i need there and within a relatively short distance, which is great given the prerelease nature at times but as is i don't see any reason to do my crafting else where, Owls head is the only place that has everything i need, sure i could stock up at home but if i run out of something like a mold its off to owls head, why waste time running around when everything you need is there, i suspect i might be able to find the same convenience in adrios but after spending a good bit of time looking around i finally just gave up and went back to owls head, at this point what i guess i'm really saying is "why shop else where" :p it would be better for the game i think if one could establish there own convience where they like but i do recognize the difficulty in implementation.

i guess the other route could be to remove the convenience all together but my concern would be chasing off more casual or time restricted players.

Owl's Head has a wider selection of recipes, a carpentry station, and perhaps more of the cooking ingredients (not sure about the last item) compared to Solania. Owl's head also has chickens, sheep, and pigs for butchery & cooking. Solania does not. You have to run back downstairs to get more crafting resources in Solania compared to Owl's Head. BUT! The Alchemist is right next door to the crafting building and the bank is just a couple of shops down in Solania. You have to run further in Owl's Head.
If you can get all the cooking supplies in the street market near the crafting center at Owl's Head, then it is about equal distance to the merchant selling such in Solania. But if you have to go up to the uptown market in Owl's Head, then you can get your cooking ingredients much closer in Solania.

This is how they lure people to the Hidden Vale.

I very seldom go to Owl's Head any more. Even if I am adventuring in the Hidden Vale, I prefer to take the boat to Novia from outside Kingsport and enter Ardoris. When I enter I ask the boatsman to take me to the main square. For me, that is less tedious than running to and through Owl's Head. The public crafting station in Ardoris has everything. The Innkeeper, Tailor and Blacksmith pay the same prices as do their counterparts in Owl's Head. All the shops and bank are in the same area, whereas they are spread out in Owl's Head.

I just re-checked by offering my rusty swords for sale at the blacksmith's in Owl's Head and Ardoris. Both blacksmiths pay the same.
The Alchemist in Owl's Head does indeed pay 10 g for a reagent (the Alchemist in Ardoris only pays 5 g), but if you are a mage, you won't sell reagents anyway. Both charge the same if you are purchasing reagents.

The public crafting station in Ardoris has 10 stations. The one in Owl's Head only has 7 stations.

Thanks! I felt a bit stuck and didnt rember that both blacksmiths paid the same.

Since I'm hauling in lots of loot now I quit picking reagents anyway. I do love your skeleton archer spots Kara.

    Lum,
I took a look at the cooking merchant in Solania tonight after the telethon and she's mainly a basic bread merchant. So, Solania could also use a butcher, a fishwife, and a green grocer.

I'll try to buff Solania and Ardoris so both work as crafting hubs next release.

Same here. The convenience of Ardoris is fantastic. Great mechanic, the boatsman.
