    Please?

It will make it easier to find a lost party member.

I think we get away from the RPG spirit of the game. I really dont like this idea.

I can see your point Abydos, but we already have a compass that tells us information like banks, trainers, and stuff like that. It really is no different. Maybe disable it in PvP zones?

What RPG spirit is that? Just about every multiplayer game I play made in recent times (or ever) has some way for you to track where the other players on your team are at-including RPGs. It makes playing with other people more fun and not including it because it doesn't fit some vague RPG spirit doesn't make much sense. If you really don't want it, include an option to toggle it on and off.

I'm not asking for a mini-map with the player's exact location. Just a general sense of direction. :)

Personally, I'd prefer the mini-map as well. Couldn't these tracking options be an actual Option?

You can track your party members over their names which you can see in green over the whole scene. Is that not enough or does it not work for you? Perhaps we could refine the current system more instead of adding a new component to the compass. Because party members move and are not static like houses. So there must be implemented a system that checks not only your position but also each time the position of up 7 more persons.

I don't think that much hand holding is required. You already have party chat that has no limit on its range. :)

No, it doesn't work like that for me-the name disappears once the party member is out of my avatar's visual range.

Frankly that sounds like it's a bug for you. In fact, I'd much rather have the compass thing then see their names throughout the whole scene.

As for the system, it's already checking the position of every single player at all times logged into the server.

Once again, it's about fun and not having a sense of direction of where my party members are at doesn't add to the fun. Party chat is fine but I don't want to constantly use it to find people. Making it simple for people to play with each other should be a goal and calling that hand holding is forgetting what hand holding actually is. It doesn't make the actual game any easier which is what hand holding does. It simply compliments party play.

People can and will still get lost. Only hopefully they get lost together because that's more fun. :)

Yep, but, I must have previously visited places and buildings do not change location unlike party members.

Im from games like Ultima Online, Shadow Bane, Mortal Online etc... and personally, I prefer to avoid as much as possible the ''fast food'' options as in games like World of Warcraft etc.

Just one opinion among many others :)

It works like this for me too, and surely not limited to visual range.

I can see the green text of a party member across the largest of maps.
