Received the collector box this week and decided to come back and see how things were.

Unfortunately, the game patcher is running really slowly, mostly below 100kbs.

I won't use Steam, so that is not an option for me (changed Steam accounts awhile back so don't believe I can't relink without rebuying the game).

    Any suggestions?

I did open the P2P port on my firewall, DNATing it back to my PC. That has helped a little... seeing ~200kbs now.

I am in the U.S. on wifi and an SSD. My download just now took less than 5 minutes. Just try restarting it. Perhaps you caught a time when many players were downloading at once. I don't play on steam so this was the regular launcher.

Mid-west USA with 50mbit up/down fibre to my desktop LAN.

Reactivated my Steam account is its downloading in the MBs/Sec range, whatever it is only affects the desktop installer.

Does your ISP have a problem with bit torrent downloads? Because that's what the installer uses.

It may be the difference between using Steam and not using Steam. The classic Portalarium patcher was always so much slower for me than Steam.

Well, if you want to download the torrent files directly, you can use this as a live bookmark and just grab what you need when it is available.

I just downloaded the StandaloneWindows_0_825 torrent yesterday so I could uninstall/reinstall SotA (I was getting a lot of client crashes, it seems to have fixed it). That one torrent is over 7 gig.

If your client supports webseeds, you can manually toss in this (with the filename at the end):
