Details: After finishing the Blood River Massacre scene and drabbing the dagger and then speaking to Edvard, and finally arriving to the Overland Map, a blue compass quest marker to speak to Kiakis is present in the compass. But this should not be shown yet, because the player has not been told about Kiakis yet. at this specific point:



The player is told and sent to find Kiakis when they speak to Kyle in Aerie about the dagger. As shown above, I have not yet even spoke to Kyle yet.

[12:00 PM] Kyle Behrand: No one has seen Boreas in many years. But I wager if you backtrack the journey this dagger took to find you, you'll find him. Now, you say it was found in Blood River... horrible thing, what happened there. But if you want to talk to the Blood River elves, you'll want to go where they came from. You'll need to go to Vertas. Go and show them this relic. The Obsidian Wars were like yesterday to them, and perhaps they have knowledge we do not. That's your next step, Ast. Vertas.

[12:00 PM] Kyle Behrand: Vertas is a city of elves, hidden within the snowy mountain range north of here. I know most don't have good to say about elves in this town, but I will tell you this - treat them with respect, and they'll treat you fair. They may be a bit odd, but I know that they find us equally confusing. Look for an elf named Kiakis if you visit... he has the most experience with humans. I'll say no more.

Steps to Reproduce: With a quest reset or with a new character, enter the Blood river Massacre scene, obtain the dagger, speak to Edvard, exit the scene via the boat to Blood River Outskirts, then exit Blood River Outskirts to the Overland Map. When you arrive on the Overland Map, head towards the city of Vertas. Observe a blue compass marker on the compass directing you to speak to Kiakis.
