planting....

I wanted to see if I could plant some garlic seeds to grow my own garlic. I don't own a house or anything like that, just a wandering nomadic noob I have a hoe, seeds, planting pot, buckets of water, but not seeing how to actually use these things together.

any pointers?

 

I would definitely buy a home and put those things to good use!

 

go to Knight's Watch and inquire about Free Housing... if you get a Row House for free then you can do some planting indoors... it will take a while but the plants will still grow... message @Astor Cerberus

 

Agriculture requires land, until public gardens are in game you can either buy a lot deed or rent a room/lot from another player. To use the items you place the planting pot/bed as a decoration and then interact with it to open the planting user interface or place the seed on your utility hot bar and activate it and target the pot/bed. The watering and harvesting skills can also be put on the utility hotbar to use.

Public planting npc building does not work that the developers created. POT owners have it I believe, well I know we do have one for Wizards Rest but it is bugged so we took it down. It is a known issue or perhaps a forgotten known issue . If you want to plant in the meantime get with someone who'll give permission to plant for you. We offer free rooms and planting permission in Wizards Rest. I am Majoria in game if you are interested.

Thanks majoria, I am currently in a guild, so will check there first. in terms of free rooms, that's interesting as i don't currently own a property. What can you do in rented rooms? can you do anything useful like plant, install crafting tools, ornament, place a merchant etc.?

 

You can decorate as you like. Hang cloaks, weapons, shields on your walls. Place chests or other containers to organize your things. Put down rugs, just make it your own space and of course you should be by your guild if they have rooms for you and that is your choice. Many players are happy to share spaces.

 

I have public gardens I make available to any resident of Dawn's Keep.
I also have 6 Inns with 90 Rooms that are free for the asking.

I’ll rent you a room in my ornate gold greenhouse in Brit warfs. Complete with planting beds, a jacuzzi and a chest for your room. 500g/wk! I’ll also give you stuff from time to time for your chosen skills. Swords, armor, bludgeons etc!
