If the Player Owned Town you live in is going through any changes that require a wipe (like a template/biome change or name change) then please remember to store your home and/or basement BEFORE the change occurs so you can restore your fully decorated home and/or basement with ease.

Is there any chance of expanding the Magic Movers system such that we could option a property and basement to an empty Property Management slot(s) if a house gets disturbed by actions of eviction, loss by tax fund depletion, or POT implosion?

Sooo in other words the Dev's can't just "select all" and "magic move all" with their software prior to altering a POT they just leave us to be sure we log in inside a small window of time and do it ourselves. What happens to those who don't login between now and then? lose all their meager belongings?

@DarkStarr Does this apply to POT ownership transfer? (I would think not, but want to make sure) :)

To be absolutely safe, yes I'd tell all your residents to store their stuff.

TOOL TIP: Store your basement FIRST, then the house. Once you store the house, the basement will go to the bank.

It doesn't matter what order you store them or put them back.

@Sean Silverfoot, @Barugon is correct. The Basement is completely separate from the house. The Basement hatch will get stored with the house no matter what order you store them in. You can even change the house and put a new hatch down, the basement will still be there intact.

The only time you need to store both is if you are going to change deeds.

Interesting I had 2 folks end up with their basements in the bank. I'll check further on our end. We've doing a lot of moving around with the rebuilding of PaxLair.

    Thanks for the heads up!

Anytime! Based on the moving around part, that makes me think the ones who had their basements go to the bank may have left them on the lot prior to you evicting or them releasing the lot before moving the (lot marker) stone. This will have caused the basement to move to the bank since the deed needs to be removed before the stone can be moved. (assuming this is what you did (move the stone))

FWIW - usually they do a 'purge' on an ownership change unless you ask them not to, the logic being that most new owners want a clean start. Make sure you're very clear with them that you don't want a purge. You should get a PM from the devs shortly before the release telling you that your town will be wiped if you're on the list.

In the last release (when magic movers was added) I was on the list to not get a purge (like you it was just an owner change), however, because the of the way that the POT data had to be refactored I got purged anyway. Support felt really bad for me and my residents and did everything in their power to lessen the pain, but they could not restore the town. As magic movers didn't exist before the purge nothing was saved. I would check with them to make doubly sure so that you know what to expect)

Excellent input! Thanks, I will keep this in mind. I'm in progress of taking over a POT and have been graciously been given the ability to modify the POT while still in the hands of the previous owner, so this will apply to me. :D

I changed the biome/template of Serenity Isle and locked my form today. Whoohoo...progress...lol :)

I am clear that I need to pack up my house prior to the biome changing and I tested magic movers to make sure I understood how it worked. Easy peasy and a thing of beauty :) Love it!!

What I am not clear about is when the change will occur. How do I find this out? There may be a thread somewhere that gives guidance, but I could not find it. R40 drops in 10 days. Is that enough time for the change to be scheduled?

These changes are done when the new release drops. It may be too close to R40 for it to go live on March 30th. If you have access to the QA server, the changes will be present there and (in that way) will give you a head's up that it will change on the last Thursday of the month.

Mainly all depends on the team's work load. So if not in R40, should be able to see it in R41.

    Good Luck!
