Assuming you had to give up one of the above to establish a crafting system, which would it be?

    Realism.

From all my years playing videogames I learnt realism can be counter-productive in some games. And in most of the cases adds nothing to the fun factor.

    Realism.

After all, whose realism are we talking about, mine from my former life on Earth? If I couldn't suspend my old perception of realism and accept the new realism of New Britannia, I would go insane right?

Making a good poll can be a challenge, but this is a horribly biased poll.

You've created a list of items that are in many ways interconneted with each other, making it easy to draw the conclusion that the current system is somehow fundamentally flawed. Plus, who's going to say "fun" is least important to them?

I feel like it would be a lot better if you recreated the poll so that people could say what they prefer, not what they find least important. Here's an example of why I think that's better.

I personally think the most important thing on that list is the balance in the economy. Or as you put it, "Market - supply/demand and economic health". I can't really get that point across in the current poll. So what's most important to me isn't captured, because by default it will end up being least important to whoever comments on it.

Sorry to say so - but this... will not work.

real life delay - who wants to wait a month before one sees the crafted item - no fun in there (for me)

This sums up my initial feelings as well. Way to many choices, and some people won't read/understand they are voting for a negative, and thus vote for something they like. The results will be questionable IMO.

I think economic/gameplay balance, uniqueness of crafted items, and utility are important.

I'm still waiting to brew up a wicked pint of Fish Gut Grog...someday.
