Pressing "ESC" key to bring up the menu closes the SOTA MAP

I often press ESC to bring up the menu to quit. I've noticed that if I have the SOTA Map on my screen, it will close it, and then I have to press ESC again to bring up the main menu. This seems like a bug to me. If it's by design, I think it's non-intuitive, as other screen elements don't go away when pressing ESC.

 

hmm. for me, esc will close a window if it's not pinned. if i pin the map, esc doesn't close it.

 

Hm... But it seems (based on the release notes) it is supposed to function more like the compass (since it is supposed to be bound to the M key for new players, etc). And that's good information to know in general, it sounds like more bugs should be filed (i.e., chat window shouldn't close on ESC either).
