While we are out adventuring, we can occasionally find Bronze, Constantan, Copper, Iron, Meteoric Iron, Silver and White Iron Crowns of the Obsidians. For the most part, these can be used just like a Gold CotO purchased in the Add-On Store; you can use it for repairing items or paying rent. However, you are limited to purchasing just one of the eight Obsidian Potions types, and cannot use these crowns to purchase items from the Crowns merchants.

So why have these instead of just Gold CotOs?

Please add some reason and functionality to these other crowns.

    Suggestions
Decide what each type of CotO means to the community, and build out the functionality on top of that.

So let's say Silver CotOs are going to be Community coins; rather than giving away bundles of Gold CotOs for winning contests or watching livestreams, these will be Silver CotOs. Players will want to spend these on more than Potions of Conservation, so let's add a new Community Crown Merchant in the starting towns (Soltown, Resolute, and Aerie). These merchants will have a constant inventory, perhaps things like dyes, fireworks, and emotes, but will also sell whatever is on sale during the weekend Flash Sales, for silver instead of gold CotOs. As we build out systems, we could add Silver CotOs as rewards for community events, like gustball tournaments, theatre performances (chance depends on the number of viewers using the /clap emote), etc.

I'd suggest these types of relationship. This would adjust where these can be found, as well as what they can be spent on.
    • Gold = Add-on Store
    • Silver = Community (rewards for attending)
    • Bronze = Wellness (rewards for attending)
    • Copper = Magic (drops off wizards, exceptional spellcasting)
    • Constantan = Crafting (drops from gathering nodes, exceptional crafting)
    • Iron = Battle (drop off mobs)
    • Meteoric Iron = Challenges (control points, boss mobs, etc)
    • White Iron = PvP (aka Blood Iron, guild battles, pvp tourney)
