PvP: Notable Players

?

Why did Chris overlook Revenant?

  1. Revenant is not very active in the Forums

  2. Revenant can't communicate very well in english

  3. Chris is out of touch with the player base

  4. Chris didn't look at PvP data

  5. Chris wasn't looking for diverse opinions

It came to my attention that @Chris didn't expect Revenant to win a PvP round, saying that he heard his name and that's it.
Knowing that Revenant (and his guild) has been for some time one of the most active PvPers in the game, and arguably one of the top players in that regard, I found it very strange he's flying under Chris' radar.
Revenant used to stream his PvP endeavors, hoping to attract more people to the PvP scenes (to no avail).

Bearing in mind that Chris recently created his notable think tank for PvP improvements, I would like to hear from the community on this matter.

I've been playing for over 3 years and have never heard his name
I have been active in streams.
I have never noticed him in game.
Either way, the poll is a 3/5 bias against Chris, and with rather unfair insinuations (grammatically).

I'd say none of the above. In the Nov 5th stream at the 20 minute mark, Chris actually shows Revenant's house on stream, comments on his wall of hundreds of skulls, mentions they were obtained by killing real players, and then responds to Revenant who was very active in the chat. So he definitely is aware of him. Perhaps he simply got momentarily confused while juggling streaming, chat, questions, ect...

Agree on this because in the past Chris has raided Revenant's stream a few times and mentioned his PvP group. Guy's got a lot of data going on in his head :) I don't think anything or anybody is being ignored.

    Revenant Who o_O?

Shroud of the Avatar has a much larger audience than most of us think.

I will bet that not many, "if any", know my main hunting characters name. Sure most can say they've heard of TimeLord because he's been here since the beginning of SOTA, but do you really know him?

Personal fame is a fickle thing which comes and goes, and I doubt our game would be doing very well if the number of us were small enough to remember all :)~TL~

The real question is: what would win a fight, a wolverine or a polar bear?
    Where's that poll?

1 of those answers is objective and 4 are opinions.

Everyone knows the real PvP happens in the forums and over voice chat.

The choices are very leaning ,lol so much that I didn't pick any of them. I don't think the Devs follow PVP in day to day like players do but more so from a stats data analytical view. I can tell you the data and information they gathered from this last event will allow for them to make some better changes to help in the balance of things. Just because some of us have been here forever does not always mean we are followed in what we do in our day to day activities. Thats how I see it, well they do listen and watch what we say in chat channels and forums and through other things like events, messages etc... at the end of the day its the feed back that matters the most on what would make things better and fun :)

I'll beat you 1v1 me quake live.

PvP balance is an impossible goal - but that does not mean the team should not strive for it.

The ceiling to enter and be competitive might need a gander.

I understand the point of view of this topic, but I believe the real problem is just my difficulty in communicating, my English is always supported by google translator and the DEVs have been working hard to improve our favorite game, I'm happy with the recognition but I don't think there was anything wrong.
So let's play SOTA and be happy hahaha

    Long live to the SOTA
