View final post for current or most recent events!

PvE Combat Event on Wednesday at 7pm CST.

Event will last for 1 hour.

The hooded man and Arkah have travelled to one of his former research sites in Caelestis Canton, where a huge hunk of seemingly living rock has been exuding a gaseous substance. Arkah was never able to figure out what this stuff was, but the hooded man fears he may know, and feels it may have had a grave unseen effect that could put northern Grunvald in danger.

The battle will have Zone chat dialouge callouts to indicated movment by NPC characters involved.

Conditions for victory: Supress and chain down the source of the 3 Primary waves as quickly as possible (time allotment will vary based on the number of people involved.) At least 2 must be supressed. If allt hree are supressed there will be a bonus reward for everyone to roll on.

Conditions for failure: Fail to supress at least 2 primary waves in the time alloted.

(In game Event occuring On Friday December 6th, 6:00pm NBT)

Reports of increased cultist activity along the Perennial trail resulting in missing persons, and information from bribed informants indicates increased Cultist recruitment activity in the area. One informant claims Namron Hathcock himself may be in the vicinity of the Perennial Coast to check in on the recruitment operations.

The guard captain of Ardoris deems it necessary that these recruitment operations be quelled. Once information on the cultists base of operations for these exercises is obtained, it will be posted here (on the above date).

The cultists will be delayed until some point next week. My computer was killed, probably via some obsidian ritual, and the new one will arrive on the 6th. A new date for the event will be scheduled then

Cultist recruitment took a serious blow with the incident in the Perennial Coast region.

But they do have OTHER ways... and those "ways" should not be discounted.

So this comming Wednesday, Dec 9th, a classified report will be released to those who seek to aid in culling the cultists further. This may be more dangerous than the previous mission.

    [DECLASSIFIED]
Cultists were seen in large groups travelling to the Grunvald desert with chained nomads in tow. It is well known that the Ebon Dawn widely practices sacrificial rituals in order to summon the undead, and they appear to have turned to this as a primary method of bolstering thier army.

@Mogul Razdunk , Emmory Watsyn, @Violet Ronso , @Grumpy Krabnevir , and Owlsey have successfully (and overwhelmingly) crushed the cultists summoning efforts for a time. The cultists did manage to finish a ritual, but something seems to have gone wrong. Obsidian shards were heard Harmonizing rather than humming thier normal tone, and the resonant power unleashed chaos with the summoning ritual, sending immense energy into the summonign dias almsot shattering it. An ominous form of a lich emerged and moaned an ambiguous warning before turning to dust at the hands of the above outlanders.

    What does it mean...?

PvE EVENT on Sunday Dec, 13 7pm

A loud thunderous noise was heard by many in Drachvald and even beyond. Local hunters have reported Blue Pit dragons beginning to migrate in hoards. Since Blue Pits aren't known to be social creatures (Other than Tungaruth Ghairmute, whom resides in grunvald shardfall) and may pose a problem wherever they decide to roost, Rangers have decided to keep an eye on the situation and will inform folks when they have an idea where they are headed, and why.

The cities along the western coast of Spindrift Bay suffered attacks from frantic dragons. Desperation could be seen in thier eyes, but what drove them? Was it hungry? Certainly, but it was also something else.

Outlanders defended the coastal cities, driving out all of the blue dragons. But a massive elder dragon flew overhead and roared, echoing a roar from the mountains of Ulfhiem, barbarian capital of Novia. The strongest of the barbarian clans held a leading presence there, and the elder blue dragon sought refuge. The outlanders continued to chase, perhaps in counter-attack to thier now burned coastal cities. All that was left of the blue dragon's brood was viciously defended by the Drak-Clan in their compound atop the mountain. Banamathr, a elder white dragon that lived atop the mountain, attempted to transfer some of its essence to the remaining young dragons before the outlanders slew them. Only 1 dragon escaped to the sea.

(PvE Event Wednesday Dec 16th at 7pm CST)

Caravans and patrols around North Paladis and Regalis are begining to increase. The undead seem to be moving in greater number. Shepard's herds are being thinned by a seemingly increased frequency of Wyvern attacks. Cities in the area have reported seeing gruesome standards placed outside their walls. It seems like an increase in generally nasty events all together, but is there a connection??

The Drak Clan marched through North Paladis leaving death in thier wake. A couple of Ebon Dawn cultists were seen with them as well, but why? The trail of death left by them gave birth to Zombies, as is often a tactic employed by the Ebon Dawn ritualists, but something was strange. Only some of the zombies bore the evidence of re-animation. And other dead risen int he area seemed to be attacking both the living AND the summoned dead.

Then a powerful lich appeared on top of the hills, hissing a warning before crumbling to dust. All of the strange risen also returned to dust. What went on here?

Meanwhile, the Drak Clan had run into a barricade. The kobolds who viciously defended the upper fortus bridge had called in reinforcments from K'rul. This is where some light may have been shed on why the Drak Clan is on the march as one of thier warriors cried: ""Out of our way creatures! The Broodmother Cries for VENGEANCE!". It seems the recent slaying of drachvald's Broodmother and young have set the barbarians on a path of vengeance. But why did they not attack the cities of the spindrift Coast?

As the Kobolds were pushed back with insane ferocity, they released a prototype mechanical dragon that malfunctioned and flew off into the mountains. The Drak Clan were further enraged by this mechanical abomination and saw it as an insult to Banamathr's Kin. A handful of Drakserkers gave blind and furious chase to the kobolds, and were killed at thier heavily fortified Encampment at Hallowed Plains.

Meanwhile the main contengent of Drak Clan warriors attacked the Kobold's hold in Serpent Spine. This was further complicated when the malfunctioning dragon showed up. The Drak Clan made a retreat during the chaos, while the Kobolds faught, high on Honorable battle. Kobold engeneers soon got the berserked dragon disabled. The outlanders and kobolds continued to fight until one of them noticed many footprints int he snow leading off the main trail. THey were quickly covered by the raging blizzard.

The current wearabouts and heading of the Drak Clan is unknown and it is advised all cities in Both North and South Paladis as well as Regalis be on high alert.

(PvPvE Event Sunday Dec 20th. This will have a PvP portion to it to help determine the flow of events. You will be able to side with Krabnevier or the defending Outlanders, the intentions of the Krabnevier side is currently unknown, the intention of the defenders is to prevent the barbarians from crossing through Krabnevier)

The Hinterlands on the border of South Paladis have seen a rash of dissapearances. Bandit activity seems to be down, and the Dyr Clan has been scavenging recently abandoned camps. The town of Axwich has become concerned as 2 of thier citizens have gone missing.

Additionally, the undead have been roaming the area in number. This reeks of Ritualist activity. It is also suspected the Drak Clan may have taken up camp nearby in some unknown location...

( (OOC) So, the above event was partially a flop and it was my fault for trying to participate AND run it at the same time, so here's what was WITNESSED happening in-game and an explenation: Drak clan was seen with a single ebon dawn cultist marching through the hinterlands, escorted by a group of players. After reaching a bridge, the defenders attacked them, but the escorting outlanders were able to defend the successfully so they advanced into middle downs. The same thing happened there. Due to the protection the escorting outlanders provided, the barbarians were able to reach Resolute, where they emrcilessly slaughtered the townsfolk and called int heri cavalry of brood elders. After killing the mayor of resolute int he great hall, a bunch of spirits arose wispering in unison: "...waaarrrnnniiinnngg.........the dawn.....has lost.....we.....live..." before fading into death again.

Then Arkah showed up saying a cultist killed him and escaped out back. And also that all the people that were just killed are still alive.))

(IC) The defenders fought hard, but with the aide of a band of escorting outlanders led by @Vesper , the barbarians were too powerful. Advancing on Resolute, they slaughtered everything in sight. Noone was left standing.
Advancign intot he great hall, the barbarians took thier mispalced revenge upon the city of Resolute.

"The day is lost!" One of the defenders cried as the mayor was slain. THe battle between the outlanders and barbarians continued until the remaining Dark Clan had been vanquished.

    It was too late...

As they mourned the loss, several spirits rose from the ground, wispering ""...waaarrrnnniiinnngg.........the dawn.....has lost.....we.....live...".

As they faded and were stricken down by the outlanders, Arkah shouted from outside "GUYS! A cultist just killed me and escaped out back!"
Not only that, but they began to notice, none of the townsfolks were in fact dead. And none had memory of the failed battle that just took place...

"Im need to talk to a guy about this. These people arent dead, and a single cultist could not have performed that summoning. Those spirits came from somewhere else."

Arkah then left the others to find someone who may have some insight into the cultist activities...Dauriel.

(PvE event wednesday 23rd 7pm cst)

The dead have been increasing in number steadily in the wake of recent events, but there is something odd about them. They appeared to be following something. Or someONE.

And this lich that appeared on multiple occasions with a warning. What could the warning be...?

The barbarians have seemed to have stopped their march on Resolute. The recent uptick in Cultist activity in North and South Paladis have slowed but the dead seem to be rising in greater number all over. Wagons bearing the mark of the Obsidians have been witnessed from North paladis to as far as the border of the Perennial Coast and Quel heading Northeast tward Drachvald. And in their wake, the dead continue to rise restlessly...

Outside of Vauban Pass and injured Ebon Dawn messenger is captured. He dies in custody but carries a message requesting aid for the camp in East Vauban Foothills. 2 Outlanders, Naeryn and Marcus got wind of this message and went to investigate, finding the Ebon Dawn's strongest warriors already engaged with hoards of rising dead. They faught thier way through the fields looking for signs of the Ebon Dawns encampment, and found it deep in the hills around a small pool located in a cavern.

The cultists in the camp were already being slaughtered when they arrived. The screams of cultists being ripped and devoured was not as chilling as the wisper of a zombie saying "....you cannot....control death...." in a feint shriek as it returned to Dust.

The cultists, terrified, tried to retreat, but found the dead relentlessly persuing them up through the hills, now infesting every corner of the foothills.

Only 2 cultists reached the top of the hill, only to meet thier end to Marcus and Naeryn whom had fought thier way through the persuing dead. As they fell, a trembling was heard and a wisper like the water of the lake speaking to them. The shade of Razox Dread spoke from beneath the lake, "....wwwwaaarrrnnninggg to the lllivvviinnnggg..." in a shrill but loud whispering sound.

"They...are in the tower..? How... *dies*" One of the cultists groaned as he breathed his last, the grounds now trembling as 3 great towers rose from the water.

Naeryn and Marcus stormed the towers searching for Razox, but found only more of the vengeful dead inside.

As they stood atopt he talles tof the 3 towers, a mighty roar shook the hills as a large blue dragon swooped down ont he fishing village, killing everything that moved. "DIE HUMANS, YOU WILL PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID IN ULFHIEM!!" It snarled with enough ferocity to make the remainign cultists stumble over each other fleeing, ignoring the living dead still in pursuit of them.

In Ulfhiem, the blue broodmother was killed, most of the younglings were also slaughtered by the outlanders, but one escaped after recieving the blessing of Banamathr.

This dragon had returned with Banamathr's Strength to avenge her fallen brood.

Naeryn and Marcus welcomed reinforcments as Zuxxor and Duursyrras Bhodie joined to their aid, and a fierce battle against a VERY angry dragon ensued!

The dragon's strength was depleted, and the outlanders rejoiced, but powered by pure hatred and rage, the bloodied beast climbed to its feet and savagly continued fighting.

"DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!!" She cried in terrifying roars, with bloodied tears streaming down her face.

Then, a voice boomed from atop the highest peak. It was the spirit of the fallen Broodmother!

    Ghost of Broodmother: "My Marsormr..."

vengful Dragon (Marsormr): "...Grasvolgir?...Broodmother.." Marsormr was struck down again, and lay looking upon the mountain, bloody and in shock. she lay on her side with her eyes fixed on the mountain.

Grasvolgir: "Marsormr...My child...The humans acted in defense. I harbor no malice tward's them."

Marsormr: "But broodmother...They slaughtered all of our kin..." she wispered, wheezing, struggling to breath

Grasvolgir Interrupts: "The Dawn flushed us from our home. It was our folly to lash out at those across the sea."

Marsormr's eyes began to water and she began to lose her breath.

Grasvolgir: "It is time to join your brood brothers and sisters and roost with father Nidhoggr"

*Marsormr begins losing her will to fight*

Marsormr dying: "I was blinded by hate, humans. Forgive me...it was...our folly..." A gentle growl accompanied her final exhale as she now lay motioneless in the fields, snow settling on her lifeless corpse.

Durign all of this, the few cultists that remained managed ot escape.
