@DarkStarr - Are items that community members asking about actually being put off because of lack of communication on specifics, or are these projects possibly being addessed as time allows during the releases?

 

They have explained it in the past. It has to do with Scrum, when items are kicked back, they dont immediately go to the next release because that can cause a cascading failure on delivery. I see most of the items missed in Q1 on the lists for various Q2 releases.

What I see is a listing of the major systems, not secondary or enhancement of existing placeholder systems (POT tools) that may get tweaked (like fishing and agriculture).

If the lack of communication means those things are definitely off the table for improvements during the next three months, it may modify participation. If these are items that may get some love during the next three months, they do not necessarily need to announce them, but acknowledgement of the possibility gives a shinier outlook to see them happen.

 

Just because something doesn't appear on the schedule doesn't mean it won't happen, especially if it dovetails with items that do appear. Every release has items that never appeared on the original schedule, but either had elevated priority due to feedback or were close enough to an existing item that they could be done side by side. I expect this will happen here as well.

 

While I appreciate the optimism, I am slightly leaning at looking at the presented message as a refocusing on things for the NUE and story specifically, perhaps at the cost of man hours to systems that are in a placeholder state.

Personally, while I look forward to the improvements to the more social side (fishing/agriculture/brewing), I can shift more focus to recreating a new character for NUE testing than wait for the other systems if I know those are on hold for a while.

 

aye, its not like not having another pass at fishing/agriculture/brewing is really effecting that many people nor normal game play, people blow up at this silly stuff. PoT tools are even more silly and I say that as a PoT owner, I want them but Im doing fine right now. They'll get in the game. However, ensuring a higher percentage of new people transition in the future from the free trial to buying the game is *extremely* important if not the most important thing the dev's should work on.

 

Very well said. It's all about getting new blood into the game now. So by launch it needs to be total focus on New User Experience... they can loop back to the PoT stuff post launch.
