quest questions I lost/distroyed the dagger in the bonesteel dagger

quest questions: I lost/distroyed the dagger in the bonesteel dagger quest haowcan I reset the quest or regain the dagger? I never actually started the quest other than getting the dagger at the start.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

It should be impossible to destroy or trade a quest item. The issue is that the items in your bag are sorted in groups like questitems, normal items, crafting tools in use.

Are you sure you don't have it anymore? There are several tabs in your inventory that filter stuff, like housing. In those tabs you will not find it.
Quest in general can't be restarted. Consumable items can gained again at the questgiver. Perhaps you made the next step without noticing it and the dagger is gone because of that. Take a look in your journal.

 

Yikes, ummm, I would try in the house talk to the guy in the house the dagger was found, if not that, UMMM, town crier or banker? OH and there is an option to hide quest items, maybe that is on?

 

the dagger is a quest item that remains on your charter.
to see the dagger in your inventory window click on the cog in the top right of the window and select show quest items.

 

I think I checked that already bit will double check to make sure .

 

Well, I looked and did not see the dagger however when I checked the hide/ show quest items it was set to show. I reset that option and there it was go figure

 

If it says "Show Quest Items" then you click it to show the quest items. If it says "Hide Quest Items" then you click it to hide the quest items. The text is there action not the state.
