    Greetings everyone,

At the refugees camp ( Soltown) I have been given a quest, an NPC (Raymond) asked me to bring back his Hammer lost in Solace Bridge during the attack of the undead.
I checked every corners at Solace Bridge, no Hammer has been found...

so here is my question : bug or not bug?

I fear you have to get it the first time you visit Solace Bridge, for the scene changes.

I forgot where the hammer is but other quest items, like the broken sword, aren't available when we return to the Solace Bridge (after creating the character).

You have to skip this quest I fear. Even if you create your character again, perhaps the hammer is not there.

ah ok, I am going to skip this quest, I spent hours and hours trying to find this hammer :) that' s also our job when playing on a pre alpha game to reveal this ' kind of problem' so it' s all good for me :)

There are still many broken quests. Early this release I go to a far away island only to find out the whole town is not yet there. I should have known, of course, but hey, was a nice trip. Are you French, I presume?

    Why not both? :D

It's *very* hard to see, even if it's in plain sight. If you want spoilers, I will give you spoilers. In the meanwhile, reduce your search area to the burned house, it's there, somewhere. Just remember that an hammer with a wooden handle will be near-perfectly hidden over wooden background.

Related question: did the task appear as one in your Journal? I don't remember this being recorded in it, not even as a knowledge item.

The only "clue" that Raymond provides is when he first mentions it...
    smack: (to Raymond) Job
Raymond: (to you) Did you see all those houses set ablaze in Solace Bridge? Well, I was the one who built them. With the way my back feels, and given that I left my hammer behind, I doubt I'll be building any more though.

But come on...Raymond doesn't even respond to the keyword "hammer"...

    smack: (to Raymond) hammer
Raymond: (to you) What are you yammering on about?

    Sigh...

He does respond. If you don't have his hammer, that's his response.

Ok, got it. But I think we can improve on that, as the response seemed more like a canned "don't know" type one that you get from NPCs when they don't understand a keyword. The implication here is that it wasn't important and can be ignored, especially when the word isn't underlined nor is the topic put in your journal, either as a task or knowledge entry. Not saying either of those are necessary but just giving feedback on his response.

He never mentions his hammer. Unless you find it yourself, you have no reason to ask him about it. Raymond does not acknowledge quest walkthroughs.

I love I was able to find the hammer on my own, you know, by leaving no stone unturned, well before anyone told me that Raymond was looking for it - including himself.

It's named "Raymond's Hammer", and since I took (paper) notes about who were the refugee names, the clue was very easy to link to the owner.

I also love how we're striving for novelty, but as soon as something doesn't follow habits and well-established gaming customs, we run around like headless chickens.

Ok, not everyone plays with a paper notebook nowadays. I feel bad for them, poor souls.
