This may have been already addressed somewhere; if it has then I apologize!

I was wondering how the Duke keep lot placement is going to work... Since it is a non-standard lot size, will coordination with Portalarium be necessary to have it placed, like the LOTM castle lots? If so, does this mean that Dukes get to bypass the "land rush" that is going to happen once the game is ready for launch? Thanks in advance!

    Sincerely,
    "Duke" Melvin Masterson

This came up in passing during a support ticket that I had.

The impression I was left with is that they aren't treated any differently from any other lots (i.e. they will be there in the game world and you have to go out and find one).

Happy to be corrected if somebody else knows better :)

Options get better as people move to player owned towns to avoid the land rush when the game goes live. I'm planning to put both my lots in our guild player owned village.

I wonder if they'll add more keeps than necessary then remove them during selection or if they will only add one keep per Duke backer.

That is if the keep lot remains exclusive with them.

I might get a POT just as insurance, in case I can't find a decent keep plot... Is there currently a hard deadline for submitting a POT request (location mainly) to the devs?

I believe they have stated there would be a certain percentage of lots over the total pledge number at game start. Certainly they will be doing this percentage for all of the categories. I would not be surprised if the LOTM Castle lots were placed according to the wishes of the LOTM, at least which part of whichever town they want to be in. I have heard nothing of this of course, just supposing. My payment plan wont finish for Duke until this summer, so I don't have information about the Keep Lots either, nothing other than supposition.

Not that many LOTMs, there were nearly 50 dukes on that graph from a long time ago, more now I assume. Guess-timating a possible total of Keep/Castle lots at 100 or so (I could be wildly wrong of course). They have also stated that you would not be able to buy either a Keep or Castle lot after the game goes live, so having a whole lot of empty (unusable) Keep/Castle lots would not make much sense, only to accomodate moves by current keep/castle lot holders either to different town, or out of a PoT. Rumors also that the maximum number of PoTs are approaching, so buying a new PoT with a keep/castle location looks to be limited after go live.

That being said, you will be able to buy Keep/Castle lots and PoTs from players going forward.

30%-50% more was what the devs said. However, since keep and castle lots cannot be acquired with in-game gold, there would be little benefit to having more, unless the pledge system stays available which it might. Even then, proportionally speaking, there would be little need for more than a handful of extras.

    > 24, i believe and that was before I became one. I am not really expecting any special treatment other than starting the game first, but at the same time as other LOTM's. We will have our own micro land-rush. :)

I found the relevant chart... This was from Jun 5th, 2014 in this post. I would love to see an update!

Don't LOTM's get a choice to the devs of where their castle will be placed?

I have not read or heard that anywhere myself. Does not mean it is not true though.

It is not conclusive by any means, but this post from DarkStarr includes LOTM's in the lot selection sequence which sort of implies they will have to race for the lot of their choice.

I recommend a holdfast, so you can be a Duke with land.

4 Dukes could split a Hamlet and have a Village Lot left over. :)

As do I... Which is why Dawn's Keep will be run by Me.

No a council... No voting rights... Me.

I believe I will be a benevolent ruler, but the lands are mine.
