R17 Student Quest (Spoilers)

I'm looking for those that may "want to seek the counsel of other adventurers and cooperate in finding these works." That's a direct quote from the quest giver, btw.

Where are the location of the 12 books? Please post what and where you found it below and I'll update the OP. EDIT: The locations have all been found, if you want to know them just read through this thread for the answers. If you don't want to know them, what are you doing in this thread in the first place? (BIG Thanks to everyone that helped out!)

Normally I despise quest completion materials of any kind. But when I find a quest that seems ill created and unreasonably hard, that's when I just don't care anymore. In some ways, this is a cool quest about virtues. But logistically the "work" involved is similar to killing 400 rats. There are no clues as to where these books are located in the entire world, we're in testing so some areas don't work particular good (i.e. there's a book at the top of the Palace of Wind in Ardoris but there appears to be a bug preventing people from entering at the moment).

I guess I'd just rather spend my time learning about the virtues instead of wandering around the world looking for books that could literally be anywhere. Hey, you looked all over Owl's Head but forgot to check on top of this rock!

Anyway, please post the books and their locations below. Perhaps over time this quest will improve to be a little deeper than a massive random scavenger hunt.

 

Well, I am not sure where the books are, as I was not looking for them, but perhaps you will be interested in the fact that the three students in Ardoris are not the only ones looking for them

I think it's fine if individual people want to do that. But it's redundant and shouldn't be required. The spoiler tag is in the title for a reason. I don't goto "hint" sites if I don't want to see hints. I don't read magazines about medical discoveries because they gross me out. I don't watch anything on CBS because they have horrible shows. This is a spoiler thread, don't want spoilers don't goto the thread, it's pretty simple.

BTW, thanks for posting those Themo Lock. I know you were way ahead of the game on this. I'm surprised you haven't found the last one yet. I can't get into the game to check yet myself, but have you visited the Book Store in Kingsport? I think they had a lot of books there that may have had one we were looking for - I ran across it in R17 Q&A but never had time to compare it to the list we were looking for.

Also, since the last book appears to be one about LOVE, doesn't that suggest that it will be in Ardoris, Solace, Soltown, or somewhere in that part of Novia? Maybe the sewers? I'm only level 5 so I haven't been able to do a lot of exploring without dying yet.

 

But if I avoid the thread it will stay between unread ones until I do the quest and I hate unread threads

 

The Courageous Mother
Was in the starter intro area Solace Bridge, where the skeles shield and sword are on the path to the right after you cross the bridge. Hubby found it, but I didn't bother to look for anything during the intro, and went back later and couldn't find it, may just be there during the starter intro.

Just wanted to reiterate that I find the dialogue of the quest to be fascinating. The arguments between reason and faith, virtue and chaos - are well done (though very concise). It's just the delivery method of the quest that I dislike.

What I'd really like to see is a clue given for where the "first" book is located. Then wherever that book is, it would be great if there were another clue (maybe inside the book?) that told you where to look for the next book. Maybe this is a diary entry by someone that says "Should you find this book and wish to read more, look HERE". I know this is kind of a stretch, but to me it's better than searching the entire globe or going to a wiki site.

 

R17 hasn't been out for a week yet and all but one have been found. I don't think that we're in a particularly bad place here.

I finished it. Loved the quest. Not having the hints was the best part because yes, the books could be anywhere.

 

So where was the last book
