R23 Aether radio range weirdness

I set my sound level a third of the way through and I could barely hear the radio from halfway across my row basement. But two floors down, directly under where the radio is on the top floor, sound's just fine. Which is great for me because that's exactly where my hot tub is

Kinda weird though that the radio sound would penetrate two solid wooden floors with ease while not being able to travel across the room of the same basement floor. Raising the sound level about 50% fixes this of course but it does make me curious about the way acoustics work in the game.
