Well, looking at who is getting struck I'm pretty sure they have incurred Lord British's wrath and deserve what's happening to them.

That was the first thing I did. I haven't worn that cloak since r26, put it in my bank weeks ago in-case that what was causing the DMG.

 

Awww I was hoping that was the fix.. still, I took off my cloak... for now.

 

Well, I did just find and fix a bug with the LB's Cloak "Mysterious Effect". If you had it equipped at any time, you would continue to receive damage after taking it off, BUT, only for the current scene. As soon as you go to a new level, or re-log it goes away. And, this should only happen once a month. So there is still something fishy going on.

I have butt-loads of screen shots if ya need em. All basically the same.
Seems to be ramping up in activity over the past 3 days or so. Or maybe I'm just paying wayyy more attention. It's def multiple times a day.
Cloak was in my INV for a couple weeks then I moved it to the bank about two weeks ago. I honestly dont remember the last time I actually wore it.

 

How about the 2016 Cupid Heart Cloak or the Royal Founder's Cloak? They were both incorrectly set up to have the same effect.

 

That's it! The cupid cloak.

 

I am now wearing the cloak from the Ardoris Tailor store, this one is 'just a cloak' I hope?

 

And, I just found and fixed the recurring damage issue. It would only damage you once per scene load. After a load the last time the effect was applied was getting lost.

Was wearing the Cupid Cloak.
Switched to another cloak, hasnt happened since. Accidentally left one deck w/the Cupid cloak, as soon as I equipped that deck I took the DMG.

Good deal man, case closed.

 

This 'mysterious effect' of the LB Cloak will hopefully have a more useful feature set, or I fear many will be melting this cloak down From my understanding, it also hides your health in pvp to a certain level? Strange, and because of the damage it inflicts to myself, i would prefer to wear something less 'active'
