Random Pets?

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I have had 2 times where I had random summoned pets with me.

I went thru the main tutorial and got to the bank. Decided to log out because I was undecided on melting add-ons before claiming everything from my bank.

So I log back in later and to my surprise, I have a pet Imp following me around. My first thought was, hmm, maybe that's a new thing for those who choose to play a mage.

I go talk to all the npcs and get some quests in my journal, then leave Soltown. I arrive on Novia with a pet Greyhound?

This is all pretty strange since I don't even have any summoning spells or pets in my inventory and I definitely didn't add any to my non-combat bar to summon them.

Is this a bug or just intended fun stuff for first day of the release?

 

My wife was wondering why she had a random foil all of a sudden. She thought maybe it had to do with her riding outfit she put on.

 

Oh, and I told her about this thread. She is very disheartened that she may never be able to get her pony back.

Had a donkey follow me around for a while, just dismissed him through the NPC menu.

 

Well, my greyhound died when I entered East Perennial Trail (zombie plague) and I haven't had another random pet since. I didn't have a rez spell to rez him or I would have.

I do have a greyhound pet in the bank so I'm not too worried about it.

I had to log out to leave work, but if I get another logging in again next time, I'll report back here.

 

UPDATE: We have discovered the cause of the issue and will be working on a solution as we speak for an upcoming patch. Thanks for the reports!

 

Nooooo!!!!

 

Was just about to report this...first when entering Britanny a white spotted bunny started following me, I thought it was a quest trigger. Then when leaving Owl's Head a black foal started following me. Glad you guys figured it out. Seems to be triggered when entering and exiting a scene.

 

Mine was the spotted rabbit! He did not last but a few moments out in the cruel world by my side.

 

Few people and I ended up with some owls following us. So random.

 

It was an event that occurred when others in the scene had summoned that pet before you changed scenes. Quite odd.

 

The walls of my keep are haunted with a Lama baby. Where the prefab walls are hard and unbreakable for me, the Lama is walking through it like a ghost.

Btw. I like such random stuff ... as long as its really random and not happens predictable.

 

Keep walls are still problematic for path finding / navmesh generation. Its a known issue.
