I have to ask a really stupid question now - how do you GET THERE? Is there a ferry from Hidden Vale or Novia that takes you there once Episode 2 is activated?

the galleons outside major cities (britanny, ardoris, aerie, jaanaford, noreach, kingsport) have mistrendur in their list. you do not need to wait for access: anyone can go and access pots and encounter scenes there. it's just adventure scenes that do a purchase check.

Should be a full up to date listing here https://sotawiki.net/sota/Wood

Straight up pine and maple wood is actually used for a lot of things.

Wood is mostly used to make the Refined Material Wooden Timber which people usually craft into Wooden Boards.

I'm guessing this is the main reason why there are buy orders for wood.

As a heavy armor/polearm/water magic user I don't feel like I have a lot of personal use for wood. I just wanted to do a sanity check before heading to crafter's town to unload the wood I've accumulated.

This and special timber like Hard Maple and Rock Maple take a lot of wood to refine.

Nahh, the reason is because crafters can go through THOUSANDS of wood before getting that 1 special wand they want, and then they need to make a 2nd, and then they need to make some to sell, and then they need to fill up custom orders, and then they need to refill their merchants.

Basically crafting from a crafters POV includes using up materials like a mad man!

Which is why I don't really sell anything. I dump it all into the bank, so I can use them somewhere down the road. Eventually, I'm going to do more mining and blacksmithing. But, for now, I'm just trying to get to a decent point with my Level and skills.

I forgot a step in the process by the way :

"Then, they gained a few levels, so picky as they are, they want that new +0.1 increase they got from their levels on their wands, so they restart the whole process"

Do Elyisan Illumination and Soothing Rain stack the heal over time effect?

Is there a list anywhere of any skills that cancel other skills (like Strength of Earth cancels Enlightenment)?

    Yes they do.

Can't remember if there is an official list, would have to test them.

If you are Polearns spec, Festering Death Poison + Puncture + Spinning attack. If you aren't polearms spec just remove spinning attack from the equation.

Body slam is also great when it lands.

When the dragon flies up, I heard that walking away can help, but I haven't tried that myself.

Right now, my Resist is 102.4% (Max 87%). Does that mean everything above 87% is a waste?

My Avoid is 39 - does that have a cap too?

EDIT: I'm in the middle of a major cook (think Breaking Bad) so I'm carrying 300% of my capacity - my avoid is probably higher than that when my Dexterity is not 1! (Yes, my dexterity right now is ***1***! I saw that and was like, WHAT?)

You mean DR? Then no. The first number (which is not a percentage) is how much damage your armor absorbs on each hit. The second number is the max amount of a hit that can be absorbed. So if you get hit for 100, you don't just resist it all and take 0 damage, your armor will resist only 87% of the hit. If you get hit for 500, your armor will resist 102.4, as that is less than 87% of the full hit.
No. DA just increases the chances of getting a Glancing Blow, which is 1/3 the damage. But it's not a percentage or anything, so there's no cap. There may be a point beyond which more DA doesn't make much difference, but I don't know the actual math behind calculating Glancing Blows.

Thanks. I was asking because I thought I remembered a long time ago that defense is capped. Is that a bit of an exaggeration? Sure there's a point of diminishing returns but it seems like you can ramp up DR and DA as high as you want them.

Someone else would need to weigh I on that. I wear light armor with a Dex/Dodge build, so my DR and DA are usually both zero.
