Recognizing Our Original Backers

    With the recent influx of New Founders, we feel it is important to differentiate all the original backers who, during our brief Kickstarter campaign, championed our team and our project. It was their efforts and generosity that allowed the Shroud of the Avatar project to happen! To that end, we will be recognizing our original backers (those who backed us before May 20, 2013) with the title Royal Founder. We will also be creating a set of Royal Founder items that include the Founder symbol with a white color scheme (instead of the blue color scheme). These rewards are in addition to all the other Founder rewards and are associated with the same tiers (i.e. Shield for Adventurers/First Responders/Second Responders, Cloak for Immortal Adventurer, etc.).

    The list of Royal Founder items includes:
    • Cloak
    • Shield
    • 4 Starter Armors
    • 2 Melee Weapons
    • Tunic
    • 2 Ranged Weapons
    • Plaque
    • Taming Horn
    • Crystal Sword
    Here is a picture of the Founder Shield. On the left is the new Royal Founder white color scheme and to the right is the Founder blue color scheme.

    Well done Starr - from a Benefactor/late founder or whatever I am, I think it is entirely appropriate that the people who had faith it this project and kicked in early on get special recognition. Their faith is being rewarded big time, as evidenced by the amazing development in the game.

    I know that all of us, including we who came in later, will enjoy the journey just as much.

    Beautiful! And thank you for actually considering Founders' feelings through all of this. Any other company would have been like, "Too bad, so sad. More money for us." But you guys at Portalarium are always so willing to compromise and show us just how much you really care about every person and part of our community! Thank you!

    I'm actually confused on the wording in the latest update (with the lighthouse and the non-combat pets).. both of these 'features' are listed as 'early founder rewards'.

    Is this intended to mean the white-wearing royal founders specifically receive the pets and the waterfront property options?
    It sounds that way, because the developers were differentiating royal founders from new founders by referring to them as 'early founders' until the new name was decided..
    but clicking on the words in the update takes us to the FAQ where no such discernment is explained.

    Either 'early' should be removed from the update text completely, or it needs to be replaced with 'royal' and the FAQ needs to be updated accordingly. thanks!

    Founder is a Tier, Early Founder is a Type of Person.

    If you took the 'Early' from Early Founder, they're just called Founder. At which point you have a Tier and a Type of Person both called Founder which mean two different things.

    As one of the Nouveau Founders I can say that yes, we also have all the waterfront and pet options listed under the various pledge levels, so it is the additional white coloured items that are unique to the Royal Founders.

    So.... really, Early Founder is a Type of Person that encompasses both the Royal Founders and the Nouveau Founders, so it should be fine to continue referring to them as such.

    At least thats my interpretation of the situation. (And Nouveau Founder is just my silly name for the New Founders, not anything official. Silly name is silly!)

    The pets in the update are for the $65 founder tier reward for every backer at that level. It is not an "early" reward-

    $65 Founder
    • One (1) non-combat pet (out of 3 to choose from)
