Did some tests in the new 735 build, here are the numbers i got, refining maple wood with scrap recipe : 450 wood results in 300 timber (base) + refine skills , my skills being at GM so 20% more (in theory) :

    Test 1
    450 maple wood - 336 timber - 12 % gain from refine skill
    Test 2
    450 maple wood - 335 timber - 11.6% gain from refine skill
    Test 3
    450 maple wood - 335 timber - 11.6% gain from refine skill
    Test 4
    450 maple wood - 338 timber - 12.7 % gain from refine skill
    Test 5
    450 maple wood - 328 timber - 9.3 % gain from refine skill

None of the tests resulted anywhere near the 20 % margin i should get from refining wood. Not sure if this is how it suppose to work now ... Hope my math is correct .

Repro - Refine some wood ... check result...numbers dont add up, increase result from refine skill is way lower then 20% .

    Test sample 400 cotton - base result 200 spool of cotton + 20 % refine skill (+- )

    Test 1
    400 cotton - 220 spool - 10% gain from refine skill

    Test 2
    400 cotton - 216 spool - 8 % gain from refine skill

    Test 3
400 cotton - 216 spool- 8% gain from refine skill

    Test 4
    400 cotton - 221 spool - 10.5 % gain from refine skill

    Test 5
    400 cotton - 220 spool - 10% gain from refine skill

Again the increase is nowhere near the 20% from refine skill.

I am no mathematician, but I thought that if something had a 20% chance, it did not equate to getting 120 from 100 of something. Meaning that if you did a batch of 100, you would not automatically get 120.

The most often used example of this is flipping a coin. Yes, on ONE try there is a 50% chance of flipping heads and a 50% chance of flipping tails. But if you flipped the same coin 100 times, it would not mean that you would have the following results:

    50 Heads
    50 Tails

If i understood it right, there is a 20% chance you get 50%-100% on top. When you create 2 spools from 4 wool, there is a 20% chance to get 1-2 spools on top.
That should avarage roughly to 10% more, half your efficiency %.

True but did the same tests with ingots and other refine skills and they round up at 20% sometimes 22% never below 15% (or not that i noticed)...anyway if thats how it suppose to work got no issue ..

Either you have 40% efficiency or there is a different range, lets say 99%-101%.
On the butchery table it depends on the meat you want to make, like it seems. Wolf yield more often extra meat as other.
