I wonder if seeing all of you in RL will be a letdown...like meeting your heroes in person and realizing that they are merely mortals...

Forgive me if there is not the place to post this, but starting the Release 2 client on my Mac isn't initiating the patching process for R3. Is this a known issue or should I try reinstalling the beta client? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Linux:
    1. Linux version is downloaded via direct download, there is no patcher at this time.
    2. Use 32bit executable on 32bit machines and 64bit on 64 (can be checked with uname -m).
    3. Officially we only support Ubuntu, however it should run on other distributions but might require some work.
    4. nVidia users: nouveau works, but is slower than the official drivers and might crash; full-screen and resolution switching might be buggy with nouveau.
    5. AMD/Ati users: radeondrmfb works, but is slow and might show graphical artifacts, use official Ati/AMD drivers instead (e.g. fglrx, however do not use experimental drivers).
    6. Both nVidia and Radeon users might experience graphical issues dealing with transparency on game objects.
    7. Mouse cursor doesn't hide on camera movement, fix being investigated.
    8. Mouse cursor might be rendered incorrectly on radeon cards.
    9. Switching graphics mode, resolution and full-screen might be buggy on radeon cards (switching back from full screen can cause graphical anomalies - work around to switch out of x11 and back).
    10. Cloth sims don't work on this build, is being investigated for R3. This will affect the way capes look.

    Mac:
    1. Mac version is also downloaded via direct download, no patcher.
    2. Full screen mode doesn't block Dock when moving cursor to middle bottom of screen.
    3. We only support two button mouse currently. One button mouse support will be coming in a later release along with remappable keys.
    4. Mac client isn't developer signed, so if you have the default gate keeper settings set, you won't be able to directly run the app. If you control-click when you click on the file, it should allow you to open. Once you do that, you will be able to run the app without issue

My patch was working but then stopped and won't seem to download anything now. I am on a 32 bit machine and I have no idea how to run a 32 bit executable.

This sentence struck me as quite funny.
Just keep restarting the patcher, eventually it finished for me.

Oh well there was a post above talking using a 32 bit executable on a 32 bit machine in a post above. So I thought that could be my problem. I have tried restarting dozens of times nothing works. I guess I could see if I redownloading *the whole thing* would work. Just got to figure out if redownloading would make things worse or not. But might be my only option.

If the patcher is starting, then you're running the right program.
What happened to me is it would progress a small amount, then the upload and download speeds would reduce to 0. I restarted the patching process probably 2 dozen times but eventually it finished. i didn't have to reinstall.

ok I might just have to wait then just very frustrating heh. I mean it got to like 59% then suddenly stopped and now seems to have reverted and is stuck at 1%. I am curious should I have p2p enabled or not? Last time during R2 it would not work unless I had that enabled *at least I think* But now I wonder if it could be causing my problems. But my download is not making any progress what so ever so not sure what is wrong.
It could be windows 8 I guess but since last release it worked *other then the fact that is crashed a ton * I am not sure why that would be a problem now.

all went well so far, ran as admin, patch updated, currently at the login screen where it now tells me ' the server is only allowing internal development at this time.'
have had a search around, not sure what i missed, any suggestions ?
