@Berek in what order will the deeds be drawn? City, Town, Village, Row or Row, Village, Town, City or random?

Seems like Random deed Random ticket would be the best.

I had 35 tickets in this raffle, and I won nothing...
I guess those that won multiple deeds most have 100s or even 1000s of tickets to be able to win that many.

    +1

Sadly (for new players, good for the game in a long term), the good raffles are over.

If you are looking for a row/village, worth more to buy it directly with gold now that all lots are undervalued (high offer, low demand). For town/city is basically the same but depends of the deal and your risk "hungry" :D.

I wasted my gold. Could have afforded a taxed city lot and more based on the tickets I put in but zero winning tickets. Last time I buy more than a couple of tickets!

So a huge guild just needs to divide up the ticket buyers amongst all their alts rather than pooling their money into one ticket buyer? Not sure how that solves the problem of those with the most money improving their odds?

It doesn't... but it looks better to the casual observer.

So, I have been getting the same question from several people- "How much are you going to put into this raffle?"

When I give my answer-- about 5 pad and 10 pot tickets, they come back to me and ask: "But haven't you already won a POT deed? Berek says you can win only one of each type."

I've been looking for the line "You can win only one deed of each type per raffle" but I'm not seeing it specifically said that way.

Anyway, I don't have a solid answer here. I've assumed its one deed of each type per raffle because otherwise Portalarium would have placed restrictions on buying, but it would be nice to have clarification. Some players who have won a row or something already would probably be glad to know if they are wasting their money buying more tickets before they purchase.

    Sincerely,

    Engineer

Good to hear, to bad it wasn't executed this way from day one of the raffles. Early missed opportunity to get new blood engaged in housing instead established players just got richer. I see the same basic thing happening with the XP exploits, new players will never compete and give up in frustration.

Do non-deed holders get automatically entered into this drawing as well (it is actually worth purchasing a ticket this time around)?

I feel limiting number of deeds won would kill raffle as a gold sink.

First, diminishing player base cause less players participation. Second, mostly the casual players are the ones without deed. However, having a taxable deed to upkeep could be a burden for most casual players who log in once or twice a week to play. Maybe a row could be the exception. Third, fairer player deed distribution is a silly idea. This is not real life where shelter over head is a necessity. The only motivation to push the deeds out to as many player as possible is to drive the coto revenue model. If casual players have problem upkeeping taxes, coto would be the first thing they turn to. However, I feel most casual can't be bothered with housing or it could be a hassle to maintain them.

Hence, the Dev are straying away from the primary tool to use raffle as a gold sink. Instead they are trying to push as many deeds into the diminishing player pool. I feel this only result in a neither here nor there situation. Raffle inability to act as a useful gold sink nor generate coto revenue.

Raffle should be scrap for now and perhaps reintroduce at launch.

No because that screws anyone who doesn't already have a deed.

However, as to your other comment, I'm curious to see what the next couple raffles do as a gold sink. We'll see if its helpful or not.

But the raffle itself has caused the game to stray from its original goal of having limited housing, only available through pledging. :/

Not true. The raffle was developed as way way to distribute the 30% over pledge/store sales of lots. When that total 30% over mark is reached. The raffle will stop. The gold sink part is an extra benefit of the raffles. NOT the main reason for them. Unless something has drastically changed that I am unaware of and hasn't been posted.
