Release 47 Post Draft: Feedback Please

Here is a VERY early VERY rough draft of the Release 47 Instructions Post. As always this thread is for editing the post itself, clarifying the contents, etc. It is NOT about debating game features, decisions, etc. Please start other threads for that.

Also as usual the links to instructions and known issues are pointing to R46 so I don't need to be told that.

I also don't need to be reminded about blank areas or places that say <insert more here>. I got those.

Also please DO NOT give feedback on the ORIGINAL text that I cut and paste from the Quarterly Schedule Post. As a rule we never edit the original text. We only put new text afterwards in italics. That way we make sure everyone knows we aren't hiding anything, especially if something is delayed.

NOTE: Some things listed here are not yet in the build and might NOT make the release!

Going back over the document, I have more suggestions:

This also resets their virtues to a near neutral state with some residual karma from their past deeds. Note that this quest reset can only be done once so choose wisely when you use it. You may want to wait until a later release when we have done more polish passes for instance.

***The above has assumptions that may be inaccurate - such as quest rewards being deleted. I apologize in advance if that is not the intent. If it is accurate, I'm thinking it needs to be explicit that people will lose banners and other quest rewards, not just *in-progress quest items*.

All of these sentences should have periods or none should have them:

• There is now a trainer that teaches players about the utility bar.
• All characters in the scene now have names.
• Ghostly Echoes have POI markers when players are within ~50 meters
• Marissa, the crafting trainer in the monastery, now has a gathering quest
• The keyword “rumors” always displays on guard dialogues to provide info about potential questing opportunities
• We honed the dialogues of Esmeralda and Captain Burnes to better indicate quest progression

Just an observation: On this list, *House and Furniture Fixes*, I don't see any mention of fixes to the Village Arena Basement where some walls will not allow placement of wall torches.

 

Two things jumped off the page at me. screaming at me for their absence.

1st. Pot tools. Again? This is really disheartening... to have an asset that cost so much and still only semi functional ..

• INSERT COMBAT BALANCE CHANGES HERE OK so... this is where the polearm stuff goes right? I mean you aren't gonna leave us hanging on suckin hind teat for a whole 'nother release after teasing us are you?

 

Are hard and supple leather considered Tier 2?

You might want to consider linking to the pledge status announcement as well.

Suggestion: Put some description of how to perform the Quest Reset. Do you go to a town crier? Is it through the options menu? etc.

Thanks Boedy My point was that the word on one list didn't match the word on the other list. Glad you were able to clarify!

 

This will cycle Artifacts out of the economy and require players to re-acquire them periodically (thereby simulating “production”)

@DarkStarr, is the materials upgrade for meteoric et all, retoractive? Or will the higher values only be on newly created items? And that might be useful info for the notes as well.

One thing that just occurred to me - well actually a couple of things:

1. For the quest reset, please consider stating exactly where a player will find themselves once they reset, or, if there will be a choice of starting areas, specify that.
2. You may want to make quest reset information a *regular* part of the release notes going forward until EP1 is released.
