    They're more wind turbines than windmills aren't they?

    I don't mean to nitpick; I just realized they've been described as mills in the past, too, but the difference might matter to the game world.

    There are some things that just simply work. Personally, I'm OK with health bars and floaty numbers ( I'd also like to see those numbers in a log/journal/chat so I can test various setups ). Sometimes, change just for the sake of change does not always equate to progress.

    For example, if playing a heal-spec, I'd like the health bar to display green if a party member is poisoned or display purple if diseased. This concept works across the board and any MMO worth its salt will have visuals such as these. I can't come up with an improvement but if you can then by all means let's experiment.

    Just remember to allow customization of the implemented features. THAT wins over customers.

    @Mercyful Fate,

    It depends on just on how well the devs are going to be able to distinguish visual states of health just by the character's appearance. I'm curious to see if it can be accomplished in a way that makes it obvious that someone is just a few HP away from being killed.

    The reasons health bars tend to work better is just because its hard to mimic the degree of the state by appearance, and in real life, a person would know better how far he is from dying just by feeling it than appearance.

    @redfish

    Agreed. Like I said, currently, health bars work. If something better than a dot comes along which is also better than "Ye Olde Health Bar" then lets get it in and play with it.

    Will the Linux version work this time? R4 was a bust as we couldn't interact with the NPC's or do any crafting.

    Before each alpha release window, they do a much smaller test with Dev+ users for a few hours.

    I didn't get much time in R4 so very much looking forwards to R5 and playing a bit more.

    I'm confused by US timezones, is that central standard time (-6 GMT) or central daylight time (-5 GMT)? It's the difference between 1:30am or 2:30am, and I've been up since 6 this morning (or tomorrow morning, possibly, for Americans) ;)

    This will get VERY funny in the last week of October when Europe's going to standard time on 10/26 (26.10.) with the U.S. following on 11/2 (2.11.). I hope they're starting the lot selection process right then ;)

    It is the same timezone but a matter of whether or not daylight saving time is in effect or not.

    I think the whole process of daylight saving time is silly.

    According to the tracker, for each patch there are ~200 seeders and less than 20 leechers at the moment

    EDIT: (figures for the Windows client)

    Beyond silly. At least they extend it a month every 10 years or so. It started out 4 months long, now it's 8 months long. Stupid.

    Welcome to the forums @Lekray!

    If I were President, my first three acts as Executive Orders would be the removal of Daylight Saving Time, discontinuing the penny and switching to metric.

    Write me in on your next ballot.
