Release 50 - makes us sound old

I like following the Release number and shows us in a flash of simple arithmetic how long we have been on this ride but for any new player looking at the game it might convey an already released game, ie ths is RELEASE 50, and that the game has been out for a long time and maybe not be worth their entry at this late date.

Sure its a flag of achievement for the developers and us but maybe if numbers themselves were not attached to it and maybe a Month/Year combo instead of a number might work better, or call it Pre Release 50 as that is what it is before we launch in March and then maybe start a fresh, April 2018 is in fact the real Release 1....hmm..or 2....

 

50 months or 4 years and 2 months -has it really been that long since the chicken room ?

 

I missed the chicken room The only thing i missed really as i came on R2. But yes in a few short months we will have been here for 5 years....that's half a decade. This is why i feel the Release title for each month could make it sound initially without further reading that the game has been out for a long time when in fact its not even been officially released yet.

 

I've heard stories about that chicken room, but was not there to experience it myself.

 

oh so cool that you have a picture of the chicken room That is so funny. I never got a picture of the chicken room and I lost some of my pics from early days when I got my new computer. My fault of course The UI has changed so much too and is still changing

Every release so far has been an advancement and deserves celebration.
After 49 months, the dev team have just been accelerating.
They will launch, but are still many releases away from Max-Q.

Back then whenever i was in a frame with LB or Darkstarr i captured a screenshot I should try and find them out as i do have plenty of pics from the early releases myself, but i think on my old laptop.

Hopefully someone will post a real picture of the chicken room Although that enactment above is good ^^

Edit: Ok that was the chicken room ^^^....I wouldn't know as i wasn't there! I thought it was a mock up in someone's basement....graphics were not that bad for R1...but have got sooo much better since.

 

Won't they change the numbering scheme at release? I know it bucks typical iterative numbering convention, but what they could do is simply put a 1 and a decimal in front of the old numbering system. So R50 would be 1.50. Reduces that "wow this sounds really far along" impression.

 

What sword is this? It's so purty!

 

Perhaps the releases after launch can be called DLC 1, 2, 3, 4...

 

I had to go in game and check but it looks like it is "Sword of the Ba'Heer". I had to go look for it lol It is prettier in person than in this photo. I tried to get a close up but couldn't seem to capture it just right

 

So limited too... *sigh*

 

Oh that's why it's called a dungeon "crawl" ..cause you get teamed up with old farts like me who made it to release 50.

 

I'll trade you one for a headless mask.
