    Join us for the next Hangout of the Avatar this Monday, August4th at 3pm CDT. Richard, Starr, and Chris will be chatting about Release 8, recounting their favorite moments, and reflecting on the R8 PvP and combat experience, while also looking ahead to Release 9. I'll be taking your questions and feedback about R8 live in the chat-room, and also in advance on the forums right here...

    Please keep your questions/feedback short and to the point enough for me to read live during the broadcast. Walls of text will be ignored for the sake of my sanity during the hangout. :D

    Also, any posts that are not questions/feedback for the Devs may be moderated without notice to keep this thread on topic and relevant.

    Is there going to be any improvement is the harvesting of materials for crafting?

    Also I thought I seen something coming in this next release about encumbrance?

    Can we have the option to equip multiple decks and split our hotbar between them? For example, one deck deals to slots 1-5, and the other deck deals to slots 6-0.

    Harvesting resources seems very tedious now, needing to go out of combat, highlight an object, then click a tool, are there any plans to automate the process?

    Meaning dbl clicking the resource, auto disarming, equipt tool and take all, in one motion rather than several?

    #1: Will there be a return/homage to Sensorial & Appraisal skills (spirit speak, forensic evaluation, tracking, arms lore, animal lore, item identification etc.) in episode 1, or in later episodes?

    #2: Will towns have a formal ability to create networks/associations between themselves to aid event-planning, establishment of town roles, promotion of regional identities, etc.? It would be similar to forming a guild, I guess.

    Sorry if this one's already been answered - I must have missed it in the Player Towns hangout.

    #3: Aside from player freedom, what are some benefits (lower upkeep, more vendors, etc.) of having a 'PvP-friendly' or otherwise lawless town?

    Is there discussion on implementing evil housing and evil swag items?(sacrificial altars, blood smears, etc....). The reason is for an evil themed Player town (pvp enabled).

    #4: Stealing? Necromantic reagents/cannibalism/corpse trophies? Virtues or their principles?

    When, if at all, should players expect to see any of these?

    Could there be a possibility of weapons that can double as gathering implements?

    (Axes for wood harvesting, daggers for field dressing, etc)

    Will it be possible for player owned towns to have one (or more) unique assets that are only found in their specific town?

    (custom fountains, special magic tree, custom statuary, etc)

    I'll come at this one from a different direction:

    Are there any plans to make harvesting resources more interactive ? As in perhaps apply the glyph system to the process, allowing for the chance of garnering rarer or more resources by using certain glyphs within a specified time-frame ?

    Will crafting ever get a ui overhaul to increase the interactivity of the process? Is there a possibility of a minigame or something similar to EQ2?
