Reminder: Repair Your Items Now! Update to Kits and COTOs

Starting in R48, artifacts will no longer be repairable by repair kits or COTO major repair. You will want to repair what you can now to get those benefits! Please review Starr's original post on this change.

@Berek, do we need to COTO repair them for them to be fully done? I thought they repaired fully with just a repair kit.

 

Do we have an artifact list going on somewhere?

 

If you want to restore maximum durability then you need a COTO (just like any other normal item). You might no longer be able to restore maximum durability for artifacts after R48 is out.

Hm if I remember well devs told us auto-repaired artis for r48 for free. Anyone knows what happened with this?

 

I don't recall ever seeing or hearing them say that.

I definitely don't have enough Cotos to do many repairs and is it really worth it? Now that is the question I'm asking myself before using my Cotos. I play regularly and I have never gotten a Gold Crown of the Obsidians from any loot at all or mining. I am trying to see into the future of what benefit it is to try to repair each item fully. I know you get things from salvaging but some of them are helpful to use even occasionally. Any advice?

any crown will work for major repairs not just the gold ones. I would only repair items you actually plan on using the others will be repaired with essence so you will need the artifacts you don't need to be broke down for that.

 

Thanks I have no other crowns. I was mostly curious to know if it worth repairing them. Is there a list of artifacts because I cannot always tell that something is an artifact like the Iron Vile Chekan or Bronze Vile Chekan or Or Iron Vile Falchion, are these artifacts ? They don't say they are unless I am blind.

 

Those ones are droped weapons (named weapons from mobs), we can get patterns from salvaging and now, every new release, new crafting t3 components from these ones. No considered artifacts afaik.

The two I repaired today I did with repair kits, a different they repaired up to max. Now, they very far down, so maybe that' why. But unless someone has seen an artifact that has some of its max durability gone, I think it may be doable just with kits.

I had quite a few artifacts that I wear in combat that had lost max durability, you can just hover over the item and it will tell you on the tooltip if it is at max durability or not. It took a COTO to repair their max durability to full. My necklace of civility, for example, was at 20/26, and a kit only repaired it to 26/26. It took a COTO to repair it to 50/50.

 

I remember hearing this as well.

It's why I haven't repaired anything and I am reluctant to do so. Someone needs to point us to a link that specifies 100% that we need to spend cotos to repair before the release. Because the link to Starrs post clarifies none of this.
