Remote Bank Access Device...

...is the best add-on ever! Here's how I have mine placed:

 

This would really help free up an NPC slot in town.. totally getting one just for that.. (otherwise I probably wasn't going to)

Is there a small wall shelf under the safe ? IE, how'd you get it up on the wall ?

 

It's sitting on a 2x2x1 stone block.

 

Keep in mind that it doesn't work like a banker NPC, because only those with some kind of permission on the lot you place it on can access it, where as anyone can access a banker NPC.

 

So it's not like a crafting station, where anyone can use it unless it's set to private?

 

Yeah, it's different, would need to be kindred or above on the lot by default to use it. We didn't want to negate the use of banker NPCs completely. (I.E. someone places a bank access device at the entrance of Owl's Head, no one goes to the Owl's head bank anymore, they hang out on the lot closest to the entrance.) It's a perk you can get for your lot, but we didn't want to alter regular banking behavior.

 

Am aware thanks.. Shouldn't be anyone but town residents using it.. and quite honestly I never thought my town should be big enough to justify a bank. So it's all good.

 

Alright. I got it because the bank is far from my house and it looks cool.

 

I'll probably grab one of these things... although, I would have liked it better had it been part of a set.

I bought one but wont see it until tonight so I have a question.

Does this bank only work for the bank in the zone? Meaning, if I place one in my house in my PoT, I can only access my PoTs bank? Obviously this kinda sucks since I can drop my banker right in front of my house as it is.

This would work very well for me in central brit since my house is as far away from the banker as you can get. This would make my traveling much better for my vendor there (dont have to run to bank to get my gold).

An important distinction.

Regional banking and regional economies are not bypassed with this device.

 

Safer too I would think for people living in PvP towns - it removes at least one reason to run out into open unless you really need to. The limitation to Nightstep only working for a destination you can walk too also also makes your home safer and more secure. Which makes it more ideal to have the remote bank terminal there.

 

Can someone help me understand how to allow a kindred access the remote bank, and at the same time not allow them to move/take it? Thanks.

 

This is untried by me, so guessing. I'm thinking that the device is essentially a branch office of the bank. You can give kindred etc permission to use it, but when they do they are logging into the bank as themselves. Need a dev to confirm, or trial and error.

 

The banks are working properly, as in when my friend uses the remote bank, his bank appears. I was just wondering if anyone knows how to setup permissions so that they can access their bank as a kindred, and at the same time not having the ability to move the physical remote bank item. Thanks for the reply though. Any help is appreciated.
