i went to place some items on my npc merchant at my row house but it said that i had too many npcs already placed. i picked up my merchant and placed him into my backpack and tried to place him but the npc bar on the decoration tool flashed and shows that i have 1 npc already placed but i have no others placed on the lot.

i also placed everything into storage on the property manager. with everything in there it showed 0 npcs placed. when i bring it out of storage it showed 1 npc placed again but i still have no npcs placed.

i also logged out and back in again and still showing 1 npc when there are none.

 

do you have a practice dummy?

 

no. only a few plants, banners and tripod braziers. that's it outside of the house which is where i am trying to place my merchant again.

 

@morilina. i see a miniature fire elemental standing outside the house at those coordinates.

 

They probably can’t pick up the elemental until that bug is fixed......

Which unfortunately still is not been acknowledged.

 

the fire elemental was originally placed inside the house and no i can not pick it up.

 

the npc limit is per lot, not seperate for inside and outside. that's your one.

 

Sometimes it is easier to right click them and send them to inventory than to actually pick them up by dragging.

That is how I managed to pick mine up.

 

there is no option to pick it up / send to inventory. i have been wanting to get it out of my house for a while now.

 

Hmm. Send an in game postal to "Spoon" as a reminder and I will do a test. (I usually do forums when commuting and not when actually gaming). Might have been that something changed since I picked up mine or might be that I used some additional trick.

 

is your trick for pets in general or for the mini fire elemental in particular? problems with the elemental specifically have been reported.

@Valkaryie asked for that one, so I took a spare one I had.
Then since I hadn't seen it placed I then put it on one of my lots, it was really difficult to pick up, but with the right click I did that, and then traded it to her. (I really liked the sounds it makes...)

But like I said, that was maybe one or two weeks ago and something could have changed since.

 

i would attach a screenshot of my menu when i right click the pet but i can't find a way to. but as far as i can see, there is no option for picking the pet up. only option that i can see that might work is dismiss but when i click that nothing happens.

 

So, I've tried to replicate but can't.
I have no problems right now, it is kinda easy to pick up.



Scenario 1
Place "miniature fire elemental pet" on my lot.
Wait until it starts moving around.
Right click it - no problem (I aim for the legs to hit it)
select first option "pickup NPC to inventory"
works

Scenario 2
Place "miniature fire elemental pet" on my lot.
Walk out of lot and a bit away.
Exit gam - Resume
Go back to lot
Find the mini ele
Right click > pickup
works

Scenario 3
have mini ele in inventory
right click it in inventory - use
this summons the pet
wait a while
right click the top left text > Dismiss
works

Scenario 4
have mini ele in inventory
right click it in inventory - use
this summons the pet
look at pet - right click on it > dismiss
works

etc
I can't make the spawn get stuck, I've restarted and reloaded etc, but it just behaves like other pets - so no bug for me I'm afraid

One trick that I have used before when the "dismiss" doesn't work - is start with "teleport", then quickly do "dismiss" right after.


Tried to get the pet killed to see if that was the trigger but nope.

 

yeah, mine does not move around. it keeps 'spawning' in the same place over and over, disappear then reappearing. i have timed the clicking of dismiss at all sorts of different points of its spawning.

 

I just placed my fire elemental and was able to pick it up, the timing sucks but just keep right clicking it randomly throughout it's spawn, despawn, and respawn fits and eventually "pick up to inventory" should display, other than that I have no other knowledge about how to fix it. Good luck!!

 

Mine behaves as it should when my other character - a co-owner - is logged in.

The minute the owner logs in (actually, enters the zone) the ele starts doing the respawn loop.

Even with the owner is present, it does slowly move. There's about 1 second when it behaves as it should - although nothing I do allows me to pick it up.


I did just discover that my co-owner could right -click, and on that context menu I could send the elemental to the owner's bank.

Yay! Now, if only it would work like it's supposed to.
