I've been thinking about what i did the same here and on QA, the only thing i can think of is that i was using the Shroud of the avatar and the blessings of Agility and Elusiveness. I noticed it after i cleared a siege and appeared on the novia map. I hope others will see this bug as well and provide some clues.

Someone posted in the critical section as well. Clues would be great. I haven't been able to get it to happen.

Got similar bug yesterday, have a suspected culprit:

Started with 135/380 weight (not encumbered) when I picked up some seeds and 280 weight of water from banker, raising my overall weight to 415/380.
Used up seed and water using radius-planting and radius-watering mechanics successfully.
Checked inventory, all seeds and water buckets were used up correctly.
At this point, my weight should have been reduced back down to 135 weight...but I was still showing the encumbrance icon for 415/380.
Bug persisted until I logged off. Once I logged back in, a new weight check was done and my encumbrance disappeared. Happy!
