    @Jaanelle DeJure
The Target System requirements is not the same as the Minimum System requirements.

    Thanks.

@Mischievous Dragon You previously said "Minimum Target System Requirements". Please advise where this information can be found, if not in the location I previously linked.

    Expected.

Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 GPU is not a video card of a Target Spec Machine.

Not sure if there is a language barrier here, however you are not answering my question.

Where is the information located regarding the "Target Spec Machine"? The website lists Intel HD Graphics 4000 as the minimum GPU required to play the game.

I think it is confusion between minimum and recommended. If you look up the video card benchmarks for Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 that may give you a better picture of how it compares with the recommended card. Both are going to have different performances, but both can technically run the game. Your card isn't going to be able to take full advantage of the changes that were made.

Let's not fight here, please. We're all on the same side trying to help each other out folks :)

    Thanks, @Lexie .

What I'm trying to figure out is what sort of FPS I am supposed to expect, so that way I know what to report or not.

I had thought I heard Chris state that 30 FPS in Ardoris was the standard for the *minimum* system requirements.

If that is not the case, I would like to know what is the target FPS for the GPUs listed in the minimum requirements:

    ATI Radeon HD 3870
    NVIDIA 8800 GT
    Intel HD 3000 Integrated Graphics

    Thanks again!

    Lexie, you are incorrect.

Jaanelle, you are incorrect. Chris never said such a thing.
Stable 30 FPS in Ardoris is only for the Target Spec Machines according to Chris.
Jaanelle, in your case, you must play with a Target Spec Machine, if you want to report framerates below 30 FPS.

Chris: "to get a stable 30 frames per second or fairly stable on a Target Spec Machine and not on Minimum Spec but on Target Spec"
    ( at 1:20–1:36 on the Tech Talk - #7 video )

Still sad that @Chris didn't even shave his devs heads... He said if it wasn't 50% faster he would shave his devs heads, but instead because it was 25% faster, he got a haircut and called it done. Boo - no integrity - shave away!

Thanks! I appreciate you tracking down the clip. :)

Still wondering what the GPU for "target spec machine" is... unfortunately he didn't mention an actual GPU.. only DX11.

Do you happen to know what the target GPU is?

    ***Unofficial information warning***
Chris did tell in a recent video that the Target GPU for AMD is 460.
So AMD Radeon RX 460 4GB is one of the Target GPUs.

I would start a brawl before I let someone shave my head, but luckily I wasn't one of the intended targets! :D

I hope this thread has helped even a little @Jaanelle DeJure

Here are some specs of just one of our machines in QA. For example, right now I am on:
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8) System RAM: 16360
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 GPU RAM: 4062

There are so many things that can go into what FPS you get for each scene, and this is not clearly the best PC in the word (intentionally) but this one is decent.

Hi @Lexie - yes that helps. Thanks!

I picked up a refurbished GTX 770 2GB for $100, and also upgraded my power supply. Now the issue seems to be how to remove the unnecessary drive bay rack that is getting in the way of installing the GPU.

More broadly- I am going to be spending some considerable time outside the country, and assuming I don't try to bring my tower with me, I am going to have to get a mobile gaming rig in order to keep playing sota. Hence, I am trying to minimize the expense of upgrading the tower, otherwise I would get a much better GPU.... userbenchmark claims I should see a 570% relative speed increase, so I'll take it.

If the drive bay rack is attached to the case with Pop Blind Rivets, then you have to use a drill with a drill bit that is suitable for drilling Metal to remove the drive bay rack from the case.

Yup- it was! I used a drill, but I don't think it was suitable for metal. Or more likely, the drill bits I have are too cheap. I was able to drill the bottom two out, and then use a little elbow grease to create enough of a gap on the top end to be able to use a screwdriver and mallet to snap the other two rivets off. So... it's in! Luckily, I managed not to damage anything else in the process as I was feeling too impatient to take everything out of the case before attempting the procedure.

Unfortunately... had to fall back to an older monitor as now I need... one... more... adapter from DVI to VGA so I haven't quite seen what this can do yet. However I'm currently getting 50-60 FPS in Jaanaford on the "Fastest" settings which is indeed about a 570% relative speed increase.
