    Title: Minimap not working.
    Reproduction Rate: 100%
    Blocker? Might end up becoming one?
    Details: In game map AKA minimap opens to a black box with 'Loading...' and does nothing.
    Steps to Reproduce: try to open map.
    User Specs:
    OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
    CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8150 Eight-Core Processor (8) System RAM: 16329
    GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series GPU RAM: 2032
    SotA.Win.64.763.Date.04.25.18
    Area: Novia
    Area Display Name: Novia
    Loc: (-387.7, 13.8, -378.9)

    So at least they changed the default blank screen to show the words "Loading...". I can access the URL thru Chrome or Microsoft Edge, Firefox even and it loads with no issues. Still getting this bit of info in the log file:

    I've tried giving SOTA access to all ports [​IMG] (pictured here only UDP but I have exact the same settings for TCP...) but it still doesn't work for me, I only get a blank map. What can I do?

    I am not able to repro on multiple accounts and machines. Please list the troubleshoot steps taken, please check your firewall and your anti-virus programs, and attempt a clean re-install. Several antivirus programs do not like web browsers opening up via software, so a few are blocking it as a false positive. We are aware of that issue.

    @Lexie , I have done all of the above I have steam and non-steam client versions and each one gives me the same info in my log about the browser DLL dependancy missing. "DllNotFoundException: ZFBrowser failed to load E:/SOTA/Shroud of the Avatar_Data/Plugins/ZFProxyWeb.dll: The specified module could not be found."

    I have tried running the game as admin, changed the compatability mode all the way down to windows 7. I have turned off my firewall and antivirus. I have made sure the game and zfbrowsers are allowed thru my firewall etc. Maybe there is some bit of info in the log file that devs will notice other than the statement about missing DLL for the map browser.

    What does it mean when I see some Maps but not others?
    Some Maps work perfectly, for others (dungeons) there is no database entry and again others, positions are not correct.

    I have excluded the entire plugins directory in my AV (Windows Defender on Windows 10 64bit) and rebooted the PC.

    Still getting the problem.

    The only identifiable error is in the sota_log.txt:

    The ZFProxyWeb.dll file exists, filesize is 188KB. I also monitored the file access with Sysinternals' ProcMon which confirms that the file is being opened successfully.

    Its good to see there has been more attempt to fix the map.     Since I think this is an important question TO THE DEVS, I must unfortunately repeat it.
    Because a machine does not choose failures, but it is somewhat faulty, or not.

    Here's the question again:
    What does it mean when I see some Maps but not others?
    Some Maps work perfectly, for others (dungeons) there is no database entry and again others, positions are not correct(Aldwater).

    And it would be helpful to make it clear that it is WANT if there is no map to see, so that you can distinguish between error and will/want.
    (Concerns statements by players who argue that sometimes there is no map at all)

    I am having some odd issues with the map as well (it has been working just fine, but now is occasionally not loading the correct maps). Like I had just left a POT to a forest siege, but the forest siege map would not display (but that map does exist). Then went to the overland, and then it was displaying a wrong map, not the overland map. I’ll try to post a bug report from the areas as they happen.

    Following the latest advice, I installed the MSVC 2013 64bit runtime and the map is now working for me.

    Being in Skerkk it is just the global map displayed. (and may other similar issues).

    no, you don't. the map was converted a few months ago to a system that does not use that external plugin anymore. some of them have not been added to the new system, but the new system is working.

    please don't respond to old bugs. make a new thread in the current release forum with the details of your map problem.
