Details: I reported this issue here and there were suggestions about the kernel and video driver. My kernel is now 4.16.8 and my Nvidia driver is 390.48. The issues still persist. If this was a crash on scene change then it wouldn't be so much of an issue. However, this is happening while just standing around or fighting a mob or arranging decorations or any number of other activities.
Steps to Reproduce: I have no way to reliably reproduce this. The best I can offer is to have my kernel generate crash dumps and then send them to you.

I just opened my bank, opened a chest full of crafting materials and the client crashed. Reloaded the client, opened my bank box, opened my crafting materials chest from within and the client crashed.

 

depending on whether your distro uses nvidia's short-term branch or long-term one, the latest driver is either 390.59 or 396.24

 

I was just standing at a Tanning station, crafting leather and crashed.

 

My avatar was just standing there while I was reading the forums and the client crashed.

I have problems with crashing, extreme CPU and GPU loads, CPU turbo spikes (loads) and resulting extreme temp spikes through the load spikes.
CPU load is around 80% (for a i7-6700K) and GPU is about 90%.

 

please make your own bug report: use the /bug command in game to get a bug report generated onto your clipboard. this will include what system specs the game is seeing for you.

 

Dear Alley Oop; How should I be able to do a ingame bug report when the computer freezes and then restart? The linux dist system information is far more accurate than the client information.

The game crashed and froze the comp after 2 minutes of combat with a wolf.

I just logged on and the game crashed before I could even click the Resume button.

Also, like @Dumar2, I've had the game completely freeze my PC several times. Twice last night.

 

My PC suffered a meltdown during an update, so I'm doing a fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. this will, of course, include a complete reinstall of SotA. I'll post here if there are still crashing issues.

 

Feel free to update us even if it does fix the issue. Often people can find fixes for their own problems by researching what has worked for others.

 

No improvement. Crashed twice just standing around in my POT then I loaded the QA client and crashed while checking out Upper Tears and then again when entering Brittany Estates.
