    @pinzasso
    Which operating system do you use?
    When did you start having this issue
    and what was the last thing you did before it started having problems?

    Win 10 and only after updateing to the newest release. Version 6.5.1 08/31/17

    I can still run the game outside of steam. Something in the update process to the next version seems to change permissions.

    Hi lexie,
    I saw that and tried most of the things.
    Clearing the download cache does nothing.
    Fixing the folder persons has it start downloading but it seems to get the same issue again when trying to update.

    This will be very difficult for us to troubleshoot ourselves; do you know if it works just fine through the sota launcher itself?
    I also assume you have updated the steam client and no anti-virus program was running at the time of install, that you have admin settings on that account, etc.
    It is possible that a full uninstall and reinstall may be needed, but you may want to check to see if it works outside of the steam first.

    Thanks for your support,

    I realize that you most likely wouldn't be able to help but i just wanted to bring this up.
    I will most likely reinstall in steam as i am unsure what else to try.

    I think that is the best bet. Make sure you have admin permissions and all that jazz during the re-install :)
    When it wants to re-download it usually means something got corrupt. Sometimes...
