Reward Lamps vs Candles

I have several awesome lamps building up from various telethon rewards. But they offer very little in the way of actual lighting. One candle does the job of 3 or 4 of these lamps. Maybe we can get a slightly higher bulb wattage to make up for these lamp shades? Kind of silly to have lamps for deco but still need candles to make the rooms visible...

As an aside, ambient light in basement seems very high now.
