Ring of Chrysopoeia (and others)

I have noticed +5 maserwork/enchant rings on a few vendors that have very low maximum durability. Why would anyone wear one of these while fighting? Do they take damage when masterworking/enchanting?

 

yep, I never wear those rings unless I am crafting. I have modified the other rings and necklaces - ring of brittle brawn, necklace of precision (etc). The necklace gives you -1.5 move speed + 20 dex, but you can use a wolf speed potion to counter that loss.

 

Really? The artifacts I've gotten have had various durabilities but the maximum durability has always been full.

 

I have never noticed whether they lose max durability while enchanting or masterworking. The low durability rings I use have seen a lot of action at the crafting tables. I am going to keep an eye on it from now on to see if they wear out at the tables at all. I can't imagine anyone wearing these while fighting. Makes no sense.

 

Some people will enchant them just for the skill ups. When they start out (drop) with varying durabilities and then you get failures when enchanting that would be why you see them with low current durability ratings.

 

The ones I saw had no enchantments on them.

 

The good thing, I suppose, is that they don't need to be full health to get the maximum benefit.

 

Yea, imo the crafting artifacts way as well not even have durability on them (harvesting types excluded) since they shouldn't be worn in combat.

 

All gear takes damage when using skills . So no matter what activity you are doing , harvesting ..healing..fighting... if it involves using a skill ..equipped gear will take dmg ....and some people prolly forget to replace the rings while doing those activities.
