I had suggested that to do this without other design changes that the land sign have like a hanging lamp from it and the color can be changed by the owner, like red for private, blue for vendor and green for a guild. That would at least mark them so visible without going inside. I like this idea also maybe a add on row building would be a good idea that looks like a market. I was even thinking of doing a tent add on and sticking the vendor in front of it ...

So my suggestion for my guild is to have a vendor mall like in old school U.O. days. However I do also agree with this idea!

I voted hating the idea, until this refreshed my memory. This does happen. It also looks good in a type of inner city place.

    Or just take the row house model and punch the first floor back 1/3 of the length and make it a porch 8 }

That would work great as a compromise.

I love the rowhouse shop window and the alternative porch idea. For bustling cities like Ardoris, it would be great to see narrow streets teeming with people buying from little shops from one end to the other.

Agreed, but if "we" are pressed for time, then just punching in a porch would be comparatively easy to do.

Perfect idea... Maybe we can even get 2 rooms on the ground floor, one as sales room, one backroom as workshop / storage in it?

They have a couple of these in the village size houses, but nothing in Row size.
    So I'm still hopeful.

Sounds good. I noticed the first plot I ever claimed in SOTA has now been downgraded to a rowhouse plot heh... I now have the big plot across from it. The row houses are def an eyesore but if they had this option it could make them popular plots indeed.

Why not try a row house "shop" variant based loosely on the old UO small towers?
Just have an open bottom "shop" with the rest on the upper floors? Perfect for urban vendor shops.

Agreed that that is one way of solving it.
The rustic village houses has a similar polework so that the above is larger than the ground floor.

My wife and I, both of us crafters and row house owners, would love to be able to have either a "Vendor Porch" or "Vendor Window" accessible from outside our little row houses.

Also, +1 on the crafting station room on the first floor as well.

Kudos to all for the fine suggestions that will enhance this game!

I played this game called knights online for awhile ...[IMG]
As you see in the picture you could set up a store anywhere and it would make a table with a window that had your 4 feature items.
The four items would appear over your head, other player could click on you and then view the prices of the 4 iteams plus any other items you have for sale.

I played this game like 10 years ago but never forgot how cool that idea was. I think it would be neat maybe to have such a function on property fronts. (maybe when walking by front of someones lot you could see there four featured items.)

    hope this sounds interesting :)
