I like the new loading screen but I really wish that it didn't have black bars. I'm running it on a 1080p screen in windowed mode maximized. It looks especially bad since the loading text is now off to the left side instead of centered.

i have the opposite problem. no black bars, but the random image i got was not designed to crop well. there's about a fifth of the logo in the bottom right. consider removing the logo? not all the images have one. alternatively, DO have black bars on the top and bottom rather than cropping.

What resolution are you running? Is it full screen?

Images are clickable to go to full resolution.

Full screen after alt-entering from windowed mode causes this to happen since it's still at the windowed resolution and not true 1080p.

Having full screen at true 1080p it looks correct.

In windowed mode the resolution for 1080p is 1920 x 1017 so it should look like this. Slightly stretched but negligible.

@Link_of_Hyrule can you confirm if your mac, linux or windows - as, as a windows player, I have a 4k screen and run 1080p for sota, and Im not seeing the black bars im wondering if its an os specific issue. Im not sure the devs can work with what you've shown

I'm on Windows 10 with a GTX 750 ti at 1920 x 1017 which is the resolution on a 1080p display in Windowed mode maximized. I've had the same bug even before the new changes to the loading screen. It's basically been around since the beginning but I figure if they are changing the screen they should fix it.

Newest QA build 434 this is what it looks like now. It stretches and crops it apparently so the bottom is cut off in windowed mode. To be clear if you resize the image for windowed mode it is not proportional so if your code tells if to keep it proportional it needs to be turned off.

    Compare to full screen:
