Not true. RG has the dough to fund this game singlehandedly. If he can spend 30 million to visit space, he can pump in more cash to make the game stay afloat. Personally, I would love to see him put in more money, gives more confidence to the game.

Also, would be a good gesture to reduce salary to 0. Like any diehard CEO would do.

Actually that is a much improved balance sheet they were holding debt previously. B shares are non voting shares they default vote to the choice of the majority of type A shares. They also get paid out of assists after all other shares are paid out. Please talk with a investment firm if you don't understand stocks.

Well, all I can say is you did realize this is a ongoing project? And when you invested whatever amount you invested in the game at whatever level, there is always risk? It's not like there was/is a major company backing the project,it has been the players. And the players, (the investors) have asked for changes along the way and the game has developed not only because of the developers, but ideas coming from the community itself.
In any case, unless people were as blind as a bat going in,everyone would have/should have known that there is a risk in a startup company. And when you/I/we/us invested we all assumed that risk.

Kickstarter is an expenditure. Seedinvest is an investment.

I could talk to my boss, but I'm out of the office at the moment.

Also, he might fire me for wasting his time analysing this investment. :p

The description in the post sounds like the writer is describing 'Ashes of Creation'

The only thing that bothers me, beside the a bit akward numbers in the offer and the fact that nobody told us is....
I can't reserve shares because you need an US bank account

Thats 2015. Wish we can see some hard numbers on the amount he invested. But the truth is the game is running out of money now. The cash burn is eating through all the raised funds and the firm need fresh funds.

Of course there are some other things that bother me, too.
For example the release date you mentioned... So much for: "The game is still in a very early state, pre Alpha"... What we see now is what we get, it seems.

Or that they just have about 500.000 Dollars left...

Do you have hard numbers which proves that the "game is running ouf of money" thing is new ?

so, if after release they sale 10,000 copies......... they still wont be out of the red...........
i'm guessing these monthly telethons will continue well into episode 1's launch?

I mean, the main bulk of the people who want to play they game have already bought it....

To be fair, if I want to invest in a company with so much cash bleed, I would buy Tesla.

Don't you found a company at nominal value of shares? I think the point he is trying to make is that RG spend less founding the company than I spent on the game itself.

    Yes that's his point.
Well in the end it wasn't a public offering. So yes, it is possible that he roughly paied 700 bucks for the company.
But it's extremly extremly extremly unlikely.
I doubt you are allowed to found a PLC with roughly 700 USD in the US ;-)
I as well doubt that the rest of the investors, especially the professional investors, would be very amused if they paied xyz per share and he paid less than a cent.

Not sure in Europe. Was working in private equity for a while, and I know for a fact you can found a company in many places with just one dollar local currency. Most of the time, they don't even bother to actually put in the money. They just recognise a receivable and write it off in the next board meeting.

Yeah a LTD would be an example for something like that.
But this is a company on shares. Usually the regulations are much much stronger for those.
But as i already said: i don't know. I am making assumptions based on how it is in the EU. And google didn't yield a fast answer. And i have no time to do propper research because i am typing on the fly ;-)
