Same here. Typing on the fly. This is the most fun I got out of the game in a while. Makes me really want to peruse the prospectus for fun.

LTD means Limited (Liability) Company right? I would imagine Portalarium is one. Otherwise I would imagine a lot of disgruntled ex-players might want to take a chance at the private estate of some keypersons in the company. Lol.

I think regulations applies more on publicly traded company. In this case, Portalarium is not one, and is not intending to be one, even with this investment proposal. For all intents and purposes, it is still considered a private company.

    Exactly.

Nope. Can't be. They have outstanding shares. So they are some form of company on shares. As a company on shares you don't HAVE to do a public offering like they are doing now, nor do you have to be listed on the stock marked.
Non the less you are a company on shares and all benefits and restrictions apply to your company.
Actually, they are an Inc. Just looked it up ^^

At least they didn't go Fig.co, that'd be the end for me.

Fig.co is carefully designed to leave the crowd investors/crowd funders holding the bag with zero recourse if things go south. At least Kickstarter, Steam and direct sales leave Portalarium with obligations that can stick.

I wish they would have gone to a monthly fee instead of constantly shoving this deco. Then maybe they would focus on making their game fun.

Shroud of the Avatar is a detailed sandbox-style MMORPG in a third-person view played with a mouse and keyboard. The player-first mindset gives Avatars the freedom to explore the world as they choose: slay a dragon, establish trade routes, craft weapons and armor, or conquer a town. Shroud of the Avatar provides players with a real world where they can do real exploration, and are faced with choices that have real consequences.

What game are they talking about!? Conquer?! All those snowflakes might get scared now in their shiny underpopulated POTs :D

They could and possibly should lay off story writers once the story is complete. Same with artists and the people working on the web site fluff. They really need the animators amd game developers/engineers.

Simple buisness plan when one phase is complete move to the unfinished one. No need to keep staff not contributing to the project.

This stuff could still be down the road, and im pretty sure they will be right land will be rare and pots will fill.

This is a buisness not a charity function. Now they are obligated to share holders, and tbh im considering investment.

    Absolutley.
But you have to admit that, if you aren't used to project work and contracts, it seems harsh ^^

Well judging from Lum's Blog I guess he doesn't do anything :p no offense. ;)

I find it funny that what most people who backed because they played UO complained about: lack of sandbox features and conflict - is still not addressed, but they advertise with it. They even dodged the question on the telethon from what I have heard (proof?)

This is, as said by others, indeed a "harsh but true" business practice, however, in reality it's not that black and white. Lots of people in games wear multiple hats, and can take over other roles. It's a gamble in priorities. Also, in our case - that would in some areas mean to reduce to zero, which isn't helpful, either.
Many areas need improvement, priorities shift depending on what phase the project is in, but all areas unfortunately need at least maintenance.

I agree, but things do change a bit with share holders involved. There is a fuduciary responcibility.

Im way more willing to get behind this knowing they will do the right things for investors.

While it would have been more ideal to have the game generate its own revenue at this point, I am at least glad to see that they are not going to throw in the towel easily. Keep fighting for the dream!

I don't expect and official response from Portalarium to this thread since they can't.
So don't expect any answers here. (The SEC rules prohibit it.)
