    The Shield of Attraction will not accept a gem, hopefully this can be changed to allow adding a gem. That's my wish!

    Have you tried a regular attunement Gem (those we had pre-R90)?

    Artifacts cannot accept Imbued Gems and Jewels, and this is by design, to balance crafted gear and artifacts, so if that was what you were trying, it won't work and is part of the balance pass.

    I just looked over the artifact shields. Seems it was really spotty what you could do with them based on if they were legacy or not, or even between tiers in the same shield type.

    For R91 (or sooner if it patches in), the Shield of Attraction, Shield of the Wicked King, and the Acara's Shield of Defiance (all variants) can now be socketed with non-imbued/older style attunement gems. Also, all variants can be masterworked and enchanted (many tiers were missing), and they are all now viable targets for pattern removal.
