should not attunement mitigate negative effects?

    For example if I have water attunement should I not get slowed less from water magic? (because that's not the case...)

    I think that's the idea but I believe that in the latest postmortem they mentioned that they temporarily stripped most of the nuances of the attunements when they removed them as passive skills. As far as I can tell, they're currently merely bonuses and they'll re-implement the rest soon.

    Hmm, I thought they just removed the negative attunement from them. Any positive aspect they had should still remain. Although, technically the only enhancing effect I was aware of came from the Life Tree with regard to extra healing from outside sources.

    There are resistance skills available in all applicable trees, level that up.

    Just a heads up, the resist in certain schools only applies to damage. The stuns from Air, the slows from Water, have no mitigation in those trees.

    Perhaps you are referring to how it used to be this way, well it was changed in the recent release. Maybe it will change again, currently, this is the new way and how it is done.

    Neither of those work very well against obsidian arrow. Oh and there is no passive that reduces damage from searing ray or death magic.

    Interesting.. some friends and I were just discussing how these effects are a problem and are hard or impossible to counter.. and then there's the bugged stun skills... :confused:

    Will there be more resistance skills coming? I don't remember hearing about how resistance works or is supposed to work. I believe that was overlooked during the telethon.

    Theres supposed to be a 20% global crowd control resistance applied each time a cc is attempted against you that stacks up to 60%.

    If its not preventing you from being stun-spammed (it used to reduce the duration of the stuns as well) then it probably needs to be fixed

    After 3 lightning bolts it should be 60% harder to stun you, and its duration should be shorter

    There was discussion of this system not working right like 2-3 releases ago. Someone wants to test it is be open to making sure of the status.

    Be aware, Lightning Bolt is bugged, and stuns 100% of the time.. I was told there was a bug report on that.. but have not checked ;) yet. Might want to test a different skill that's known to work correctly... ;)

    inst npcs, my knock has 55% chance to knockdown, and its most common that i can do it continually even with max cc reduction active on target

    Also Body Slam (I've heard, but haven't tested that) will stun 100%. :p Probably a few more bugs, but those are the ones that are most bothersome to me... and will make pvp very interesting hehe! I'm going to try to keep an eye on the cc debuff and the stuns this eve...

    Bodyslam scaling appears to have changed so it actually reaches 100%. I bug reported this the patch it changed but they never said anything about.

    Either way, shouldn't we be able to test whether duration is reduced by the passive using those two skills?
