    1) If I'm in town when it comes under siege, how do I know?

The only way I know of is to exit town and check. It would handy to see it under (Owned by ...) or something like that.

    2) How do sieges work for POTs without overland access?

the exit tool tip will change to the name of the siege instead of Novia

There are boulders flying from catapults, houses burning, peasents crying for help, chaos, children shouting for their parents, NPCs dying... oh wait...

Well, yes. But, only if I'm exiting. :)

I'd like something more. I was happily working in town for hours with no idea it had come under siege until I left.

Wounded solders coming into town and wondering around asking for help would be pretty cool. Fireball flying overhead would be bonus!

I think it could be made more clear what's going on when dumped in a siege. Having the name of the town as part of the title instead of just "Forest Siege" and some better direction on how to get around it.

I do have to say that I really like the whole concept. It adds some great community content. It was great to see residents and guild member respond to the call and help clear a siege.

sorry but this is one of the main reasons I refuse to call them sieges they have zero interactions with the towns, they are just intermediate scenes, and most times just an annoyance like almost every other overland encounter.

    great idea poorly integrated.

@Weins201, I'm interested in what a siege would be to you?

    I will bite.

when a town is under siege npcs are triggered to do animations something like hunker down hands over heads looks around.

in a few places around the scene particle effects are activated and smoke starts to come out npc buildings or some such.

prices on npc vendors are multiplied by 2 or so.

if! they had to I would not mind needing to reload the scene if the town I was in came under siege to activate these effects. something like the this instance is closing pop up but you get 60 sec or so then its reloaded.

@nonaware, I like it. The NPC Vendor price increase is a nice touch.

Would the battle take place in town as well or would all of this just be the signal that there is a siege going on outside the town?

I am fine with how it is now but would not be opposed to having a few mobs spawn in at the entrances exits of the town scene.

maybe some at the bank( add some dynamic events/quest to pots with this kinda thing)

Let's heaven become dark and cloudy and with a bloddy touch, let it rain blood or have an upcoming stormfront at the horizon.
Smoke in the far distance and such things would not need to do a lot of work or need performance , but would create some atmosphere of fear announcing the arrival of a cabalist.

would be cool to help defend the pot from your home. I would be motivated to build walls with ladders

I place alt account avatars in various locations and just port to them, allows to me spend time more efficiently rather than be tied up.

I have to agree with this. Town sieges are fine but they are not town invasions and they don't have the feeling a town needs rescued. In the end they are just another thing to do, even if fun and new, and they are missing the pieces that would be a call out to help a town. Like creatures invading the actual town like in uo. It didn't have to be such a big deal when we asked for invasions to add interest to towns. I am not criticizing what's been done just sayin it got commercialized like Christmas:)
